WHAT WERE EX-COMMANDOS, C5, POLICE DOING AT MUNDUBILE’S RESIDENCE.
We are here again trying to make sense of the chilling events surrounding the raid at Mr. Mundubile’s residence.
First and foremost, we are deeply saddened that the life of Mr. Katotobwe Kafwaya was cut short. Our hearts and prayers are with his family during this painful moment.
However, beyond the death of one person lies a far more disturbing question. What exactly was unfolding at that residence, and how serious was the threat to Zambia’s peace and stability?
The Joint Defence and Security forces, through the Inspector General of Police, have confirmed that three ex-Special Forces commonly referred to as Commandos, with sophisticated military skills were found at Mr. Mundubile’s residence.
Ex-Police Officers linked to the C5 unit were also reportedly found at the scene.
Then came the moment that turned a security operation into something much darker.
The Joint Defence and Security forces have confirmed that there was an exchange of gunfire between the ex-Special Forces and security forces. The confrontation left one person dead and others injured
This is where the questions become frightening.
Mr. Mundubile has some serious explanations to give, not only to the country, but also to the family of Mr. Katotobwe Kafwaya.
Why would a friend be placed in a situation where he could lose his life?
There were reportedly more than 15 people at the meeting.
How did an alleged gathering of this size end with one person dead, 11 arrested and facing a treason charge?
And perhaps the most disturbing question of all.
What were highly trained ex-Commandos, former C5 officers and other security personnel allegedly doing together at one residence?
We are reliably informed that the ex-Special Forces were allegedly commanding a group of foreigners from the DRC.
If that information is confirmed, then Zambia must ask itself how deep this matter goes.
So, let us put the pieces together.
K7.1 million is found in cash form.
A group of people is allegedly trained outside the country in military-type skills, including vehicle jamming, sniping, computer hacking and abduction.
Then, suddenly, highly trained ex-Commandos and former security personnel are allegedly found at the same residence with a Political figure.
And then, according to the authorities, gunfire erupts between them and the country’s security forces.
This is no longer a simple political gathering.
These are allegations that, if proven, raise questions about whether something far more dangerous was being planned something capable of threatening not only individuals, but potentially the peace, security and stability of the Republic.
And that is why the country deserves clear answers.
What exactly was being planned at Mundubile’s residence?
Who was commanding whom?
Why were ex-Commandos and former security officers there?
And most importantly:
Was Zambia’s national leadership, including the Head of State, ever in danger?
These questions cannot simply disappear into the night.
Zambia deserves answers.

Looking at the amount of military fire power at the premises, and the high grade military skill set of several of the attendees, this was clearly not a birthday party for a toddler.
This was the command centre for a network of career criminals whose objective was to seize power from a democratically elected government.
Indeed those are the questions which Mundubile should answer and tell Mutotwe’s family how it exactly happened. We also want to know why Mundubile and Makebi have gone into hiding, why are they running away and whom are they running away from? We need answers. Besides that, we should also begin to gather bits and pieces of information on what some people were saying; for example, someone said we are ready to use anything in order to remove UPND from power even if it meant using Lungu’s body. Then may be the same person again said that he was ready to kill and to be killed, we are now wondering if what has started unfolding is what he meant. We also want to know if the same person was among those who were arrested or those who fled. Mundubile should be able to account for all the people who were at his residence. We further heard from someone declaring himself a winner long before the counting was concluded. What kind of winning did he mean? Was his so called PVT in line with those of the Observers and other accredited Stakeholders? It’s really unfortunate and dangerous to endanger other people’s lives for your political benefit especially where others even lose their lives. We thank God that whatever evil plans that were being planned, they never succeeded, God thwarted them and demolished them as he demolished the tower of Barbel. We don’t get power by force but through the ballot, that’s why we hold elections. If there were any other means, there would be no need for having elections.

There is too much noise coming from both sides and it is difficult to separate fact from fiction.
The true picture will begin to emerge when the matter is brought before the courts.
As of now, I would rather reserve my comments on this very sad turn of events.
I totally disagree with your assessment JMC. The noise is coming from criminals a cartel hell bent to gain power at all costs. Where was Makebi..at the time..? You seem to forget or what had been said prior to the elections…! Please let’s not joke with such matters. One life is already lost for wanting to gain power by FORCE. It won’t work.
