” Each time I am invited to Nigeria to address politicians, government officials, clergymen, royalty, and business leaders on the future of our great continent, they all nod their heads in agreement.
Their faces reflect concern. Their applause is resounding. For a moment, I leave believing Nigeria is ready for redemption because if Nigeria gets it right, Africa will rise.
Yet, every time I return, I find the same problems—only deeper, more entrenched, and more alarming.
It leaves me with one question: Are Nigerian politicians merely hearers and never doers? Why pretend to embrace the truth when you have no intention of putting it into practice?
A nation is not transformed by applause or nodding in agreement; it is transformed by the courage to act.
