Wild Story: Donald Trump claimed that Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia each gave $2 trillion for the wars in the Middle East bringing the total to an astonishing $6 trillion.

But here’s the catch: the combined GDP of Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia is estimated at around $3 trillion.

So the obvious question is: Where did the $6 trillion Trump mentioned come from?

Unless he was referring to something other than direct government funding such as long-term investment pledges or commercial agreements the figure appears difficult to reconcile with the publicly known size of these economies.

Either way, this claim has sparked plenty of debate and left many wondering whether it was a factual statement, a rhetorical exaggeration, or simply the plot of a blockbuster movie.
