ZAMBIA AND US STRENGTHEN STRATEGIC TIES THROUGH ECONOMIC COOPERATION
Zambia and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership through cooperation in health, investment, critical minerals and border transparency.
The two countries held bilateral talks on the margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
President Hakainde Hichilema was represented at the meeting by Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe, who is leading the Zambian delegation
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Chris Kulukundis reaffirmed Zambia’s status as a strategic partner and encouraged deeper cooperation between the two countries.
The United States also congratulated Zambia on President Hichilema’s re-election and reaffirmed its commitment to a forward-looking partnership.
Mr Haimbe said economic diplomacy remained central to Zambia’s development agenda and stressed the importance of US partnerships.
The two sides agreed to deepen investment, value addition and economic cooperation aligned with the Grow Zambia Agenda, while maintaining close communication and engagements in Lusaka and Washington.
