ZAMBIA HAS A WRONG GOVERNMENT IN POWER DETERMINED TO LOOT NATIONAL RESOURCES – HON MUNDUBILE.

…….questions the Govt silence over FIC  suspicious transactions worth Millions.

LUSAKA………….Saturday, November 23, 2024 (Smart Eagles).

Mporokoso Member of Parliament Honourable Brian Mundubile has lashed out at the UPND Government on the laissez-faire approach towards suspicious transactions worth billions of dollars and Kwachas Captured in the FIC Reports.

Speaking Friday, Hon Mundubile cited $2.8 billion, K5.8 Billion,  K13.5 billion and K64 billion as some of the suspicious transactions that have received less attention from the Government.

He said these figures entailes that Zambia has got a wrong government in power that is detemined to loot national resources.

Hon Mundubile wondered if this is the reason a substantive DG and Board have not been appointed at the Anti- Corruption Commission.

He said there seems to be too much excitement by the Government in pursuing smaer cases such as the one for the 15 flats or involving former Ministers.

“The FIC Report, you remember their is a report that talked about $2.8 billion worth of suspicious transactions. We Want to find out how far government has gone.
There is a report that revealed that talked about Suspicious Transactions amounting to K5.8 billion, another one talked about Suspicious Transactions amounting to K13.5 billion and K64 billion.

All these suspicious transactions have happened in the past few years the UPND have been in power. This is the same UPND, when they were in opposition, the last FIC report on suspicious transaction under PF was worth K2 billion , they called us names , calling us thieves,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hon Mundubile has stated that alleged corruption being undertaken under the current Government will be followed.

He said this includes the corruption at  Ministry of Health especially the one involving $100 million.

Hon Mundubile also announced plans to pursue alleged corruption in the energy sector, stating that the UPND government is corrupt.

“We know that ACC is seating with letters that  were authored by Ministers to Contractors in that transaction. We also want to follow up the transaction involving the purchase of fertilizers at the Ministry of Agriculture. This is where fertilizer worth $30 million were purchased at over $50 million within the country.

We also want to make a follow up to the concession that were given to the mining house. We have question marks on the concessions that Hon Situmbeko Musokotwane gave the mining houses. Especially that three years down the line, we have not seen the commitments from the mining houses ramping up production. If anything we have seen that production has gone down.  Corruption in feeder roads and the fuel tanker industry, where individuals are allegedly taking money, all these will be followed,” he said.
