Zambia Look To Put Africa Cup Race Back On Track

Was at the press conference this morning [yesterday] listening to Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic and captain Enock Mwepu speak ahead of tomorrow’s crucial encounter against Comoros in the AFCON qualifiers.

Yes, it is already crucial and important that Chipolopolo win just their second group match after having lost the first one.

Asanovic is confident he will deliver a victory tomorrow and Mwepu says the team is in high spirits.

Those are the messages we wanted to hear from them but the main business is on the pitch tomorrow.

Comoros are no longer the pushovers of yesterday, they are a highly technical team that can come to Heroes tomorrow and just play for a point.

Asanovic needs to bring out his tactical flair and the players will need to give over 100% because for me if they don’t want to complicate things for themselves we better win tomorrow.

I thought the coach made costly mistakes with his selection in the last game and ahead of tomorrow’s game he has promised to ring in the changes.

Mwepu is the processor in this team, you can move any other player out of their position but certainly not this guy! He is the engine!

Lubambo Musonda has so much to offer when played upfront, we better use his trickery and speed to unsettle the Islanders’ defence thereby giving more room for Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala to hurt them.

Otherwise like Asanovic, I think we have a better team that can dispatch this Comoros team if we only bring our ‘A’ game on the day.
