ZAMBIA, RWANDA HOLD BILATERAL CONSULTATIONS TO STRENGTHEN TIES

Permanent Secretary for International Relations and Cooperation Etambuyu Anamela Gundersen has held bilateral consultations with Rwandan High Commissioner to Zambia Emmanuel Bugingo aimed at strengthening the longstanding relations between the two countries.

The meeting, held at Charter House, discussed various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), including a proposed reciprocal visa exemption arrangement.

The two sides said the proposed agreement would facilitate the movement of nationals between Zambia and Rwanda while promoting people-to-people relations, trade and tourism.

Gundersen also expressed appreciation for the goodwill message from Rwandan President Paul Kagame congratulating President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election.

The officials further discussed Rwanda’s possible hosting of the 8th Session of the Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation in 2027.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
