Zambian Ambassador to South Korea says Delay in Maize Floor Price Could Cost Ruling Party Votes.

Zambian Ambassador to South Korea Andrew Banda says the failure by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to announce the maize floor price may disadvantage the ruling party in garnering votes because farmers are angry.

Mr. Banda said the agency should quickly announce the floor price, adding that farmers are not interested in discussions about the maize moisture content but want to know the price.

He said President Hakainde Hichilema had assured farmers that the agency would soon announce the floor price, but unfortunately, this has not yet happened.

Mr. Banda has called on the FRA to quickly announce the floor price, saying time is running out and that the delay could negatively affect the ruling party.
