COURTROOM SPOTLIGHT: ZAMBIAN BUSINESSMAN FACES SOUTH AFRICAN TRIAL
Zambian businessman Willah Mudolo, his wife Zethu Mudolo, and four other accused are expected to appear before the Pretoria High Court today as the long-running R102 million fraud and money-laundering case gets underway.
The case is reportedly linked to an alleged investment scheme associated with fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri’s Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church.
After years of delays, the trial is now expected to proceed, with South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) indicating that it is ready to present the case.
Bushiri and his wife have since left South Africa, while all six accused have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
As the proceedings continue, all eyes are on the Pretoria High Court.
