Zelensky Calls for Urgent Air Defense Support as Ukraine Faces Interceptor Shortages

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned Russia’s continued attacks on civilian areas and urged Western allies to urgently strengthen Ukraine’s air-defense capabilities.

Zelensky called for additional interceptor missiles and stronger sanctions against Russia as Ukraine faces growing pressure on its air-defense stocks amid sustained Russian missile and drone attacks.

Kyiv is also working to accelerate development of its own missile systems as it seeks to reduce reliance on Western-supplied air-defense interceptors, including Patriot systems.

The Ukrainian government has warned that maintaining sufficient air-defense coverage remains a critical priority as Russian attacks continue across the country.
