ZELENSKYY: ACTIVATE STARLINK OVER RUSSIA AND UKRAINE WILL HUNT ITS BALLISTIC MISSILE LAUNCHERS
“I told Trump: we can stop Russia very quickly. If you activate Starlink on their territory, we will destroy their ballistic missile launchers. And that’s it,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine is pushing Russian forces back in several contested areas, but Russia retains a dangerous advantage far beyond the battlefield: its ability to launch ballistic missiles and massed drone attacks against Ukrainian cities, energy facilities and critical infrastructure.
Mobile ballistic-missile launchers are difficult to locate and must be struck quickly once they move into firing positions. Extending Starlink coverage over Russian territory could allow Ukrainian long-range drones to maintain reliable communications, hunt those launchers and attack them before their missiles are fired.
This would not remove every Russian battlefield advantage. Moscow still possesses greater manpower, aviation and ammunition reserves. But neutralizing its ballistic launchers would weaken one of its most destructive capabilities—and reduce the pressure on Ukraine’s limited supply of Patriot interceptors.
Zelenskyy’s message to Washington is straightforward: if Ukraine is being denied the weapons needed to intercept Russia’s missiles, then it must be allowed to destroy the systems launching them.
