ZELENSKYY READY TO FACE PUTIN AT G20 SUMMIT IN MIAMI
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he is prepared to meet Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami this December if the Kremlin leader attends.
“Yes, of course. We have to come. We have to meet, talk and make decisions,” Zelenskyy said. He stressed that another exchange of statements would mean little without concrete results.
If it happens, this would be their first face-to-face meeting since 2019 and potentially the most consequential encounter between the two leaders since Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
Putin remains wanted by the International Criminal Court over the alleged unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children. However, because the United States is not a member of the court, it would not be automatically obligated to arrest him. Any visit would still require extensive diplomatic and security arrangements while placing Putin under extraordinary international scrutiny.
Zelenskyy has made his position clear: Ukraine is prepared to meet. The decision now rests with Putin—and whether he is willing to face Ukraine’s president directly and make decisions that produce measurable results.
