Brother Wanted After US$50 Dispute Turns Deadly In Harare
Police have launched a manhunt for a 30-year-old Harare man who is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of his younger brother following an alleged argument over a missing US$50 (about R825).

The incident reportedly happened in Sunningdale 2, Harare, on Monday, 20 July 2026, and the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is now appealing to members of the public for information that could lead to his arrest.

Harare Police Appeal For Information On Murder Suspect
The Zimbabwe Republic Police said the suspect, Emmanuel Makazi (30), is being sought in connection with the death of his younger brother, Munashe Makazi (22).

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the incident took place at around 6:30 pm on 20 July 2026 at the family’s home in Sunningdale 2.

Police said preliminary investigations suggest the fatal incident followed a disagreement over a missing US$50 (about R825).

A statement shared by the Zimbabwe Republic Police on 22 July 2026 said:

“The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Emmanuel Makazi (30) who is being sought in connection with the murder of his younger brother, Munashe Makazi (22).”

The police added:

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim once on the chest with a sharp object following a dispute over a missing US$50 before fleeing from the scene.”

ZRP Urges Public To Help Trace Emmanuel Makazi
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has urged anyone with information about Emmanuel Makazi’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.

Police also appealed to members of the public to contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or send information via WhatsApp to 0712 800197.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged dispute or the events leading up to the stabbing. Investigations are ongoing as police continue searching for the suspect and appealing for information from the public.
