ZUMANI TO MUNDUBILE: RECOGNISE HH FIRST, THEN LET’S TALK!
TONSE Alliance founder and NRPUP Secretary-General Zumani Zimba has urged opposition leader Brian Mundubile to publicly recognise President Hakainde Hichilema as Zambia’s Republican President as a key step towards dialogue and reconciliation.
Dr Zimba argues that recognising the declared election winner would create a more conducive environment for President Hichilema to engage in talks with the opposition.
🗣️ “How can HH be motivated to dialogue or reconcile with people who don’t recognise him as President?” Zimba asked.
He further urged Mundubile and his supporters to stop attacking or insulting Hichilema, saying such actions would not help resolve the current political impasse.
According to Zimba, accepting Hichilema as the sitting President and respectfully appealing for dialogue—not demanding it—is the best way forward.
Meanwhile, Mundubile, his running mate Makebi Zulu and 16 others are currently in detention facing treason charges.
