30,000 TEACHERS, 11,000 HEALTH WORKERS TO GET JOBS

Vice-President Mutale Nalumango has assured the nation that Government will recruit the 30,000 teachers and 11,000 health workers this year as this is in the national budget.

Mrs. Nalumango says the recruitment will happen gradually and as need arises.
She says the UPND Government remains committed to job creation both in the formal and informal sectors because it is one of the issues which is highlighted in the party’s manifesto.

Mrs. Nalumango said this when she responded to a question from Pambashe Member of parliament RONALD CHITOTELA who wanted to know why there are a number of inconsistencies in the statements by Government over the employment of teachers and Health workers.

And Mrs. Nalumango said young entrepreneurs should take advantage of the initiatives Government has put in place to empower themselves and contribute to the country economic development.

She said among the initiatives that the entrepreneurs can use is the Constituency Development fund -CDF- and the creation of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises Development.

Mrs. Nalumango said this when she responded to a question asked by Zambezi East Member of Parliament BRIAN KAMBITA who wanted to find out if Government will put in place deliberate measures to support young entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Nalumango said the Government will soon release money for the bursaries for pupils.

This follows a question from Kalabo Central Member of parliament CHINGA MIYUTU on when Government will release the remaining money for bursaries.
