ALEBWELELAPO pa mupando a song originally composed by a group of Patriotic Front (PF) women based in Luapula has been chosen as the theme for the party during campaigns.

President Edgar Lungu who is PF presidential candidate made the announcement when he launched the commencement of the party’s campaign ahead of the August 12, general elections.

 

“In 2010, we sang and danced donchi kubeba, in 2015 and 2016, we campaigned under dununa reverse. This year, may I announce that the theme song for this campaign is alebwelelapo pamupando by our party women choir. so ECL presidential choir your song has officially been approved,” President Lungu said.

He also announced that the party managed to successfully file parliamentary candidates in all the 156 constituencies.

President Lungu further congratulated councilors who went unopposed, adding that this shows that the party is organized.

“This is a clear sign that it is only the PF who are ready for these elections countrywide. Trust me, this electoral success we have recorded this month at nomination stage is the same we shall finish with after 12th august, 2021,” he said.

And President Lungu has thanked republican Vice-President Inonge Wina for her wisdom, counsel and resilience.

“The Vice President has promised that she will continue advising our leadership and we shall indeed seek her counsel. I am equally elated that madam you are already orienting my running mate, Professor Nkandu Luo, who I am confident will also be a great vice president. Professor Luo is a tenacious, candid and courageous intellectual, who brings public service experience and quality to our campaign,” President Lungu said.
