Iran shuts Strait of Hormuz again :cites U.S. “blockade” as trigger

Iranian military authorities have reimposed strict control over the Strait of Hormuz, effectively shutting it down again within hours, reversing earlier signs of reopening.

Tehran says the decision was driven by ongoing U.S. maritime blockade measures, which it described as “piracy-like actions,” accusing Washington of restricting its access to global trade routes.

According to Iranian officials, Donald Trump has confirmed that U.S. naval forces will continue blocking Iranian ports until a formal nuclear and peace agreement is reached.

Reports also indicate that U.S. forces have ordered at least 21 vessels traveling to and from Iran to turn back, escalating tensions and prompting Iran to respond by tightening control over the strait.

The move signals a direct retaliation strategy, with the Strait of Hormuz once again becoming a critical leverage point in the standoff, raising immediate concerns over global energy supply and maritime security.
