Corruption at the Ministry of Lands on Archbishop Emmanuel Millingo Framland

24th November, 2024

One year ago someone made a fake NRC for Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo with the sole aim to defraud him of his farm. Everyone knows the difference between a fake NRC and a Real one.

Firstly, the NRC number was different from the original one and instead of a signature on the NRC, there was a thumb print. Ukufwantika when the old man is well learned and able to sign his signature time immemorial.

The matter was reported to the Police then but todate no arrest has been made. Why haven’t the police  arrested the person responsible for this evil act on our Archibishop?
I was very shocked when I found out that the docket and the file have been accumulating dust and no action from both the Police and the Ministry of Lands.

How is it possible that the Ministry of Lands accepted this fake NRC with a thumb stamp?
Why don’t the workers at Ministry of Lands know the difference between a fake NRC and an original one or is it that they do but part of facilitating land theft and land corruption?

Land issues are a number one corruption problem in this Country and the nation has hope that with the removal of violent cadres after 2021 when the UPND took over, land crime would stop. As many other criminal acts, non seem to have stopped if not, gotten worse.

This Country has to change beyond political rhetorics especially at the Ministry of Lands where land corruption is business as usual. The case of our Ambuya Emmanuel Milingo is a classic example of the Ministry inertia to do things correctly. It’s been one year since he applied for a replacement title deed to his farm but to date nothing been printed. Any follow up made by his lawyers it is always ‘come next week’.

If culprits in the Millingo garland saga are not brought to book, then it seems to me that no any other Zambian can be helped on land corruption and other land issues. Who helped make his fake NRC and who at Ministry of lands helped to remove the caveat with fake documents?
How did they remove the caveat to almost printing the title deed in fake names?

Not everyone at the Ministry of Lands is corrupt however, but one or two bass seeds spoil the name of the entire Ministry. The bad seeds need to be identified and removed if the Ministry of Lands will be cleansed of its bad corruption tag.

The bad corrupt people at the Ministry of Lands have caused too much suffering for the majority Zambians and most ended up losing their genuinely owned land of farms. Democracy demands equity and equal access to fair services from all government ministries and this case the Ministry of Lands. May they resolve Archibishop Emmanuel Millingo’s farmland without fear or favour and stand for the truth and justice as they help him.
