DEC CONFIRMS THAT THE VEHICLE BISHOP ALICK BANDA GOT FROM ZRA WAS GRABBED FROM HIM AND FORFEITED TO THE STATE
Lusaka Archdiocese Archbishop Alick Banda, Forfeits Motor Vehicle to the State
Lusaka, Thursday 12th September, 2024.
Pursuant to Administrative Forfeiture Processes under the Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic substances Act Number 35 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia, the Drug
Enforcement Commission (DEC), commenced the forfeiture process relating to a motor vehicle, Toyota Hilux with Registration Number ALF7734.
The Commission wishes to confirm that the subject motor vehicle has duly been forfeited to the State, Pursuant to
Section 83 of Act No. 35 of 2021 of the Laws of the Republic of Zambia.
Brief facts of the matter are that; following credible evidence that the vehicle in question was irregularly acquired, the registered owner, Archbishop Alick Banda, was invited to avail the said vehicle. The Bishop availed the vehicle, which was consequently seized from him through his Legal Representatives, on 27th December, 2023.
As of 27th June 2024, Archbishop Banda, did not claim the vehicle and no proceedings regarding the vehicle had been instituted by the Commission. In terms of Section 83 of Act No. 35 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia, upon expiration of six (06) months from date of seizure, any seized property that has not been claimed is deemed duly and legally forfeited to the State.
The Commission is however, restrained to give further details on the matter, as the motorvehicle in question, is subject for consideration in other matters currently active in the Courts of Law.

Absolutely nothing wrong. The vehicle at the centre of this was forfeited in 2023, and the Bishop hasn’t contested the seizure. What has he done mwebantu..Now ECL is being brought into the issue as the source of the vehicle?? How and why????
The only thing Arch Bishop Banda has done is defending the Chawama Priest , Father Salangeta over Hakainde’s useless graphs.and talking about the bad governance under Hakainde. Please leave Arch Bishop Banda.
