Late former president Edgar Lungu personally told me that he wanted me to be Makebi Zulu’s running mate, says former PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri.
And Phiri says some people were pushing for Mulenga Kapwepwe to be Zulu’s running mate, but advises that he must pick a PF “true green” for the position.
Phiri also says the Tonse/FDD loss in Kasama must be blamed squarely on Mporokoso member of parliament, Brian Mundubile, who placed self above public interest by moving away from the campaigns in order to get elected as Tonse Alliance president.

Hon Makebi Zulu was nowhere in the scheme of things. If anything, he has just complicated the race to the Presidency of the Patriotic Front. He wasn’t even among the initial people who had paid the K200,000.00 nomination fee in 2022.

The only thing I can agree with is on the Self Centered Brian Mundubile…the man with an unhinged Ambition for the Presidency. The man has put self before the Collective good of the Patriotic Front.
He was a co- conspirator with Zumani Zimba and Dan Pule to expel the Patriotic Front from the Tonse Alliance in the midst of the Chawama and Kasama Bye Elections.
He was nowhere in Chawama where he was supposed to be protecting the late Edgar Lungu ‘s legacy..In Kasama he had a lukewarm presence, rushing back to an Illegal Tonse Alliance Meeting to crown himself President..Bad timing. What a Man!
Lies after lies ! Whether this is true or false did Edgar had the right to appoint Makebi and Mumbi ? Did Edgar known in advance that he was dying? The Man wanted to run for president again but then why appointing others ? People should refrain from mentioning Lungu. The right thing is to run and win election. Never mind what Edgar said just follow democratic tangents to select new leaders. That’s why 4 and half years have been lost chasing wrong things. After all was Lungu to start honouring his useless wishes ? The Man failed to rule for 7 years !

That’s how things can turn to be when a party fails to convene and hold a convention four years down the line. Total confusion. And things are getting clearer now because of late, we have been wondering where the political interest is coming from in people like Mulenga Kapwepwe, kanshi she has already positioned herself as running mate to someone. Very soon she will also start quarreling with Mumbai Phiri, Mr. Zulu, and two Bemba women, whom shall he choose? Unfortunately Zambians can not buy this plan, they are better off with HH and their children are doing fine with free education.
Who ever Lungu, the worst president Zambia has had so far, appointed is irrelevant. What legacy does Lungu have? Corruption and violence! Campaign on your programme if you have one, not on rejected Lungu, now dead.
Edgar announced Kelvin, he anointed Makebi, he anointed Given, he anointed Brain, he anointed Harry. If so he must then have been a very foolish and divisive person. Who does that in his real senses.
