GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP EXPORTING ELECTRICITY TO NAMIBIA IMMEDIATELY – NAWAKWI

… as UKA applauds Citizens First party for launching its Manifesto.

FDD President Edith Nawakwi says government should immediately stop exporting electricity to Namibia and give it to Zambians.

Speaking at the launch of the Citizens First Party Manifesto in Lusaka today, Mrs. Nawakwi said it is unacceptable that children are dying in hospitals due to prolonged loadsheding.

She said it is sad that the UPND Government has prioritised making money at the expense of looking after the welfare of Zambians.

She said Zambia is currently at crossroads and the decisions citizens make now will determine how Zambia at 100 years.

And United Kwacha Alliance-UKA chairperson Sakwiba Sikota applauded the Citizens First Party for launching its Manifesto.

He said there is a great desire that thoughts are well documented and that political parties tell their plans to the people before being ushered in office.

Mr. Sikota said Zambians want to keep a record of the plans that each political party has.

” All political parties that add value to UKA have launched their Manifestos or are yet to launch. We applaud Citizens First for launching its Manifesto and so far UKA has a similar view from the Manifestos of affiliated parties.” Mr. Sikota said.

  1. It will only make sense if tariffs are raised to a sustainable level for the the company to operate in black. Any thing short of that is political rethroic. Just plain noise, as these power exports allow Zesco to meet its debt obligations while availing power at unsustainable levels.
