I’m Overlooked, Rarely Invited to Important Events – Mutubila

Veteran broadcaster Frank Mutubila, who has enjoyed a distinguished 55-year career in media creating programs such as Frank Talk, Kwacha Good Morning Zambia, and Let the People Talk, has expressed feeling underappreciated.

Speaking to Diggers News, Mutubila said he is often excluded from major events and press conferences, despite his long-standing contributions to Zambian media.

“I’m overlooked and rarely invited to important events,” he noted, highlighting his disappointment at not being recognized in spaces where his voice and work have had a lasting impact.

Mutubila’s comments shed light on the challenges veteran journalists can face in receiving acknowledgment, even after decades of shaping public discourse in Zambia.

  1. Ba Frank grow up and do a reality check.
Who told you that you are so important?
Under Kaunda na ma wet look you had to be reminded to dress up like an adult. Today you still have not realised that you are an “old washed up has been broadcaster”
Give it rest. There is a sell by date on your forehead man, and it states the date you left ZNBC. Yonks man….move on.
My kids were in diapers when you joined ZBS. Four decades ago and today you still want to glorified. For what? And people should wait in toe for you to make room?

  2. Cos you are Congolese, fullstop. What other languages have you spoken in your whole 40yrs at ZNBC? Non! Only English. Secondly, which village in Zambia do you come from? Who is your chief? Who is your sister? Who is your brother? Non! Fckn refugee. Go back to Bujimai. Thankyou!

  3. You either start a podcast if you’re not ready to retire. In this economy it’s inconceivable for someone to be expected to be carrying deadwood. You had your chances but blew everything because you never prepared for retirement. Even now you don’t see the importance of retirement! No one is under any obligation to invite someone who has no capacity to add value to a project. In case you haven’t noticed even traditional media has faced major challenges now, check and let everyone know why the post office business model is in such trouble ?? You’re still clinging to the past, until such a day you’re just going to fall and die. If you really knew had something you wanted to pass on you could have started a media outlet or started a TV media station and provide some content, but were not focused and just wanted to be given free jobs. You’re not different from the PF opposition that just want to loot and steal without any appetite to do any kind of work.
