MAN IN COURT FOR SHARING SCREENSHOT ABOUT CHIPO MWANAWASA IN WHATSAPP GROUP

A Lusaka man has appeared in court for allegedly sharing a screenshot from a Facebook page in a WhatsApp group.
The post was related to Chipokota Mwanawasa, a policy advisor to President Hakainde Hichilema.
According to a court document from the Lusaka Magistrates Court, Joseph Chishimba shared the screenshot in a WhatsApp group called “Zambian Politics.”
The screenshot was from a Facebook page named “Hon Charles Kakula” and had a caption that read:
“Chipo Mwanawasa is my ex-girlfriend and she told me that the guy in State House (Plot 1) is responsible for my pregnancy.”
The state argues that the information in the post put Chipo Mwanawasa’s safety and security at risk.
Mr. Chishimba is charged with publishing prohibited information, contrary to Section 54 of the Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes Act No. 2 of 2021 of the Laws of Zambia.
He denies any wrongdoing.

Hakainde has brought in laws to prevent people from commenting on such matters. All we can say is that what happens between two grown ups is none of our business, as long as they do not break the law. By extension, even asking Chipo to stand up at a press conference so that people can see that she was not pregnant broke the cyber laws of 2021. I can not imagine any woman that would want to be paraded in that way. Anyway, it is wrong for people to cast the first stone because none of us is pure. We are all sinners. Only God, Hakainde and Chipo know the truth, so people should stop making accusations unless they have proof. As I said, the cyber laws are very clear on such matters so this ombre will be jailed unless he has proof of his accusations.

Exactly. Cyber law is like that verse in the bible that says remove something from your eye before you point at one. We are all sinners so let’s just respect and care for each other, than celebrating when one is going through pain. Zambia can grow faster if we realised that we only have one Zambia and as long as you are zambian then you are one people (meaning we are not deferent from those born from one mother). Let’s Stand and Sing of One Zambia Strong and Free, Land of Work, Joy and Unity.
Chishimba has been charged under cyber laws passed in 2021, that is, by the PF government. Now that he’s appearing in court, please ensure to attend court as criminal proceedings are executed. To low lives, freedom and democracy means freedom to insult and humiliate without consequences. The schooling system and the clergy also take part of the blame for failing to recognise this problem in Zambian society.
Chishimba is facing the tune of his medicine so it will be worst of time attending court sessions. He must have cared for other people in the first place instead of distributing things he doesn’t even understand weather it’s true or not. It was silly of him sharing that, it was not out of Love but to expose others for humiliation.
