Plot twist unlocked. Just when the Edgar Lungu saga couldn’t get any murkier, a South African funeral parlour has come forward with a bold denial: “It’s not us!”
Two Mountains Funeral Services, the parlour many believed was housing the alleged remains of the former Zambian president, has told the court in no uncertain terms that they are not the keepers of Mr. Lungu’s body. Instead, they are pointing fingers at another private Thom Knight and Company, another funeral home, claiming that’s where the mystery corpse is actually being held.
Their statement comes hot on the heels of a legal request by the Zambian government seeking court approval to verify the body’s identity, amid swirling speculation that Edgar Lungu may in fact still be alive.
With whispers of morgue panic and reports of a quiet body relocation, the drama just keeps escalating. The Lungu family’s secrecy isn’t helping either, leaving everyone asking:

And when did the Court receive the State’s application to verify the Remains of Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu? And when did the Court Sit to hear from the Funeral Parlour?
What I know is that there was a letter From the government written to the Lawyers of the Family asking to be allowed to verify the body.
The only Court sitting am waiting for is the one Scheduled for 4th August, 2025.
And yesterday the Funeral Parlour which has been keeping the body confirmed that the body has been moved to a secret location for security reasons.
So what is Koswe telling us?
Let us wait for 4th August, 2025…so that we can have closure.

Confirmation of death by presentation of the Corpse as verification is Paramount, especially in this case of former head of State ECL.
Too much hanky-panky is going and surrounding this death by the family of ECL and PF party.
Major questions are this,
1, What if ECL is alive and well but just a gimmick of running away from the long arm of the Law.
2, What if its a strategy to tarnish the current Government for the up coming elections in 2026, their plan B as they said it.
3, What if ECL is really dead but was murdered to hid the huge stash of Monies in foreign Countries.
There are just too many “ifs” that the Government of Zambia and the People of Zambia need to know the truth and have answers.

When too many explanations are given for a simple exercise then one must know that something is amiss. Show the dead body full stop. The only other explanation is that you do have it or are lying about it period.
How else can we the citizens be expected to know the truth. Please stop wasting our time and playing with our emotions. Allow the identification process to commence or else face the consequences of your cover up.
Honestly was it expected that like children we would just shut up and bury an identified person without first checking. There is no logic in this issue. And if the person in question is not the one to be found them another serious case will be opened.
So please save us all this drama and just do the right thing. Let us the Zambians prove he is truly dead. Your words are not enough anymore. Too much drama is attached to this thing.
