WE CAN’T KEEP ON LIKE THIS, HAIMBE COMMENTS ON INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE’S WITHDRAWAL IN KABUSHI

Justice minister Mulambo Haimbe says the happenings in Kabushi where an independent candidate Alfred Yombwe has withdrawn from the race justifies the urgent need to address the constitution.

Speaking with Daily Revelation following the decision by independent candidate Yombwe to withdraw from the race, Haimbe said people misunderstand when one tries to offer guidance especially on active issues like the one in question, and therefore the administration will let the Electoral Commission Zambia take a lead in giving a position, if any.

“This is what we have been saying all along, why we need to amend the constitution. I have said it more than 10 times to look this provision in particular and any other provisions which are problematic, they need to be addressed. We can’t keep on like this as a country, going back… https://dailyrevelationzambia.com/we-cant-keep-on-like-this-haimbe-comments-on-independent-candidates-withdrawal-in-kabushi/

  1. Why should we always have costly commissions to undertake changing an ENTIRE constitution each time we find something missing? Is it an all or nothing approach enshrined somewhere or is it the duty of our legislators to table a piece of such legislation and address that gap that is found wanting?

  2. You will keep on moving like Hon… because UPND had no say in the making of this constitution. You boycotted and the constitution was enacted. Soli, you will govern within the framework of the constitution you boycotted. When you have no vision, this always happens. At least for now there is no clause you can say you opposed. By boycotting, you ‘agreed’ to everything
