CHINESE NATIONAL DIES AFTER COLLAPSING IN SINAZONGWE
A 52-year-old Chinese national working at Ezra Energy Limited in Sinazongwe district has died after collapsing in his room at the company’s premises.
The deceased has been identified as Guao Xupeng, with the incident reported to have occurred around 09:00 hours on 16th August 2026.
Initial findings say the victim was in good health and had supper with his Chinese colleagues before retiring to bed the previous evening.
Meanwhile, the deceased was also spotted brushing his teeth on the day he died, later sitting on a chair inside his room while watching a movie on his phone.
The incident report further indicates that two of his colleagues were with him in the room at the time and later observed him stretching himself before he collapsed.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Moono Namalongo, says the deceased was pronounced dead at Sinazeze Mini Hospital upon arrival, with his remains yielding no physical injuries.
Namalongo has noted that a postmortem examination will be undertaken to ascertain the actual cause of death.
