A 16 YEAR OLD GRADE 9 PUPIL COMMITS SUICIDE IN LUKULU DISTRICT
A 16 year old girl of Simukiya village in Lukulu district of Western Province has allegedly committed suicide.
Brief facts of the matter are that Violet Upite was on Thursday 26th January 2023 told by the mother to pound dry cassava for the evening meal at the time her mother went out to fend for the family.
But upon the mother’s return, she found that Violet a grade nine pupil at Lukulu School had not done what she was told to.
It was at this point that the mother questioned her daughter why she never did what she was told.
The late is said to have gotten upset after being questioned and went in the house to pick a knife and told her mother that she was going to kill herself.
But it took people around to restrain her from killing herself with a knife.
After the knife was gotten from her, it is alleged that the girl went out of the house around 19:00 hours and never returned back.
A search for her at the neighbours proved futile.
It was this morning between 10:00 hours and 12:00 hours that a passerby down Simukiya found her hanging to a tree with her neck tied to a blue rope.
Some sources further revealed to Lukulu Fm news that the late Violet has been threatening to commit suicide whenever an issue arose at home in the past.
The body was later picked by the police and is lying in Lukulu district hospital mortuary.
