Honorary Chieftaincy title is as similar as a Honorary Doctorate title. Its just a recognition for ones contribution to society it can be revoked at anytime.
This is Peter Fisher with a honorary chieftaincy title in Ikelenge whom many refer to as the white Lunda Chief (Chief Nyamwana).
Besides him being honored with this title in recognition to his family’s contributions towards well being of Lunda people in Ikelenge, he as Peter Fisher has ambitions of his own.
Yes many have appreciated his role in transforming the livelihood of the people of Ikelenge through his social corporate responsibility programs. He has done his part socially, and non will beat his family records.
Today his been adopted as Patriotic Front candidate for Ikelenge. This has not sat well with many people thinking its a desperate move by PF because among many candidates why choose a traditional leader? Well there opinion have to be respected.
Now let’s look at Peter Fisher’s lineage. Peter was born in Zambia by Israeli parents. His Zambian by birth and not Lunda by tribe. His race is far from the Lunda Kingdom, yes he was raised in Lunda land but that doesn’t make him an indigenous Lunda man from Mwatayamvwo’s Kingdom present day Congo D.R. His Peter Fisher and not Peter Kakoma or Chimwasu!
If his conviction tells him its time for him to contribute to the people of Ikelenge politically let him do so its his democratic rights. Remember its frustration from our leaders who fail to deliver that leads others into political environment. For over the years, Ikelenge has been represented by indigenous people who have failed to deliver not even one promise.
Him Peter Fisher has managed to put up facilities in Ikelenge that provides sustainable livelihood to the people of Ikelenge. His pain seeing the majority suffering, led him to vy for a political office. He wants to represent his people in Ikelenge.
Let all grieving respect the fact that his made his decision. He wants to see change and transformation of Ikelenge as it is a border town that can give Zambia forex, and change its status core as a district.
Had all the previous leaders who have presented Ikelenge in Parliament delivered on their promises, Peter Fisher could have maintained his lane. He feels enough is enough.
Those crying the loudest are scared the Ikelenge seat has gone to PF! Its a lesson for you all lazy MPs. Zambia is not short of leadership!
There comes Peter Fisher challenge him if you can! The man is untouchable in Ikelenge. His now a politician shift the chieftaincy to another let him represent his people in Parliament. One Zambia One national we soldier on!
