KALABA RECEIVES THUNDEROUS WELCOME IN BAULENI

Citizens First (CF) President Harry Kalaba on Sunday received a thunderous welcome when he toured Bauleni Market in Lusaka, where hundreds of traders and residents turned out to greet him.

Kalaba, accompanied by senior party officials, moved freely through the busy market as enthusiastic marketeers chanted slogans and expressed confidence in his leadership, describing him as their preferred presidential candidate ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Several traders said Kalaba’s message of economic renewal and good governance had resonated strongly with ordinary citizens struggling under the high cost of living.

“Harry Kalaba understands our problems. We are suffering with high prices, and we believe he is the right person to fix the economy,” said one marketeer, who identified herself as Mary Phiri.

Another trader, Mr Joseph Banda, said the crowd’s reception was a clear sign that the people were ready for change.

“The welcome you have seen today is not staged. It is organic. Kalaba is our candidate because he speaks for the poor and the hardworking Zambians,” Banda said.

Addressing the crowd, Kalaba thanked the people of Bauleni for the warm reception and pledged to prioritise the welfare of marketeers and small-scale traders if elected into office.

“I am humbled by the love you have shown me today. This confirms that Zambians want leadership that listens, leadership that serves, and leadership that puts the people first,” Kalaba said.

He added that markets play a critical role in the country’s economy and must be protected and empowered.

“When we form government, we will ensure that marketeers operate in a safe, clean and supportive environment because you are the backbone of our economy,” Kalaba said.

The visit to Bauleni Market is part of Kalaba’s ongoing nationwide engagement with communities as he consolidates support ahead of the next general elections.
