Kalaba’s CF explores legal option against Muchima over ZAMMSA DG hire

Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba says his party is consulting its lawyers on the possibility of commencing legal action against Minister of Health Dr Elijah Muchima’s decision to directly hire a director general at the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) against the ZAMMSA Act.
On Wednesday, Muchima challenged people questioning his decision to appoint a director general at the ZAMMSA, as fraudulent, to seek legal action to stop it.
In an interview yesterday, Kalaba one of the stakeholders that have raised alarm on the government’s decision, said Muchima would hear from his party very soon in order to put a stop to the irregularity, adding that

The ZAMMSA board is appointed by the minister and in the absence of the board the minister assumes the role of the board. So Mr Kalaba having served as a minister ought to know how things are. Is it because where he served as minister there was no statutory body under his portfolio.
