Update; ECL Ruling on Tuesday
Kindly note that the Ruling by the Constitutional Court on the Eligibility case of former President, Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu will be held on Tuesday 9 July 2024.
This is in view of the Funeral Service of the late former Chief Justice Hon AM Silungwe which takes place on Monday, 8th July, 2024.
May the Former Chief Justice Annel Silungwe rest in Peace.. He served the country with excellence. The only Chief Justice I learned about in my Civics classes at secondary school.
On the ruling by the concort, going by past rulings made by this court from 2021, I expect another exercise in ‘ intelligent ‘ noise over the ECL eligibility case.. some vague noises which will pass the ball for determination somewhere else…Judicial ping pong…may be to the 2026 ECZ for determination … some convenient middle of the road noises..
For the 9 expelled PF MPs scheduled for 11th July , some preliminary issues from Ng’ona will obviously be on the menu and a very long adjournment to study these!
I have a very low bar for this Court… going by its history.
Hmm. Happenings when network on Airtel just got restored. These days it feels like everyone is studying for a final exam but didn’t have enough time to revise for it. The syllabus is one of those that one is not familiar with. Honestly I am trying to get my head around these happenings. Just sitting on the dock of the bay watching time flow away I guess
