M’MEMBE CAN BRING CHANGE – SICHINGA

PEOPLE’S Pact Movement Vice President Robert Sichinga says he will back Socialist Party President Dr Fred M’membe in the August 13 general election.

Sichinga said he was too old to vie for the presidency and would, therefore, campaign for Dr M’membe because he had demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.

He said he had confidence in Dr M’membe’s leadership style and given a chance, he was capable of delivering social and economic change from bad to a real stable outlook.

“I have known Fred M’membe for 47 years. He was a young man coming from university. So, when his name was mentioned, I had no problem because I knew him as a man of integrity,” Sichinga said .

He said this during a joint press briefing in Kitwe.

Sichinga said he would do everything within his powers to ensure Dr M’membe became president of Zambia.

He said he could vouch for Dr M’membe’s credibility and leadership qualities and that he was clear that the socialist leader was a visionary.

Sichinga said the country needed a young man who was qualified and fit to run the country.

“I supported Mr Hichilema in 2016 when he was approached by the party leadership and even in 2021, I supported Hichilema,” he said.

Sichinga said he was disappointed with President Hakainde Hichilema’s governance style.

He said the Socialist Party and the People’s Pact Movement were the solution to the various problems the country was facing, created by the United Party for National Development (UPND) and previous governments.

Sichinga urged Zambians to rally behind Dr M’membe as he had contributed to the democratic and human rights reforms in the nation.

Sichinga also expressed his disappointment with Hichilema’s handling of  Bill 7, which was later en acted  as the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No 13 of 2015.

Dr M’membe is the presidential candidate of the SP and the People’s Pact Movement.

  1. Continue to dream, elderly man. You have aged just like Membe; your time has come to an end. It will not occur again, as your time has passed. Go and engage in agriculture in the village.

  2. Do we need any change I wonder? You should have run out of ideas and it’s better you rest. What change can M’membe bring to Zambia?
