I’m Being Attacked By Small Political Enemies In PF – Paul Moonga

0

By Patson Chilemba
Paul Moonga says he is being attacked by small political enemies within the PF, who are after his position of Lusaka provincial chairperson.

Speaking with Daily Revelation over the assertions that he has been fired from his position, Moonga said he did not have any correspondence showing that he had been axed from his position.

“The Secretary General of the party is the only one who can issue a statement against my dismissal or the party spokesperson. Honourable Davies Mwila is the one who can be given instructions by the President…he’s the one who appointed me,” Moonga said. “If the President found me unfit for the position surely has all the rights and powers to remove me from (my position) because nobody is permanent to a position, I am not permanent to this position. These are very demanding positions.”

Moonga said there was no member of the central committee who defended President Lungu in the same manner he has done, saying his political enemies were out to get his position.
“Tell me Patson which member of the central committee today in Zambia is defending the President as compared to Paul Moonga? In a year, how many people am I in touch with on party matters? So all those are the questions people should ask themselves. At the same time people can’t talk about me, who else can they talk about?” Moonga said. “Those are small political enemies within ourselves who are after the position of provincial chairmanship. It’s not an easy position you must be tested. I have been in politics for some time. I was a branch treasurer before I became a councillor in 1998. I became a constituency chairman in Matero for two terms of office. I became district chairman MMD, I became provincial chairman.”

Moonga said he had served as provincial chairperson when the PF was in the opposition, planting structures in places like Luangwa and Kafue, wondering how he could fail to work now that he was in the ruling party.

“I have no correspondence of any letter of dismissal on any matter and I have never appeared in any disciplinary committee of the party for any offence,” he said.
Asked on the various assertions leveled against him, including the fact that he appeared for meetings drunk, Moonga wondered which meetings his enemies were referring to.

“On my own you can never see me drink beer until after 17 hours, whether private whatever it is I am self employed. I am never. I am not 62 years I have maintained my health, so those are political allegations from political enemies,” Moonga said. “And when I saw the article it’s quite dividing the country, where they are saying no because he’s Tonga they just use Tongas, those are nonsense stories.”

Asked to categorically state if he was still the provincial chairperson and if he would be in office during work days, Moonga said he worked everyday, saying his position did not even require him to be in the office, but in the field.

“We are field workers the office is there for communication. We have a secretariat where I have got my secretary there Kennedy Kamba, we have the official secretary who is employed who goes to work everyday. The rest of us we are in the field seeing the voter registration exercise,” said Moonga.-Daily Revelation

Stop Your Lawlessness Of Getting Voters Personal Details, Mucheleka Accuses Chitimukulu

STOP YOUR LAWLESSNESS OF GETTING VOTERS PERSONAL DETAILS, MUCHELEKA ACCUSES CHITIMUKULU
By Patson Chilemba
Paramount chief Chitimukulu of the Bemba people of Northern Province must stop the lawlessness of collecting personal details of those registering to vote, says opposition UPND deputy secretary general Patrick Mucheleka.

And Mucheleka said the opposition party has instructed their members to begin effecting citizens arrest on headmen collecting personal details of voters and foreigners allegedly being issued with voters cards.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mucheleka said the party was receiving disturbing reports from Northern Province, where “one of the chiefs who has chosen to be a PF cadre has ordered chiefs and headmen under him to be getting details from people registering to vote.”

He alleged that they were checking for people’s National Registration Cards and the serial numbers on the voters cards, something he said was illegal.

Asked if he was referring to Chitimukulu, Mucheleka said: “Yes I am. And he must stop what he is doing. This is the man who keeps crying all the time, no the opposition wants to remove me, no one wants to remove him. He’s doing a lot of things that are against the law, and this time around let people exercise their right to vote. We want ECZ to extend the registration period, they will not be able to capture the 9 million thy are talking about. But even with that we would like to.”

Mucheleka charged that, while it was appreciated for chiefs and other stakeholders to get involved in urging people to register as voters, collecting personal details was out of bounds.

“Where do you want to take those details?” he asked, adding that the PF’s attempts to rig the elections would not work. “You know out of desperation I have just given you the case in Northern Province where they are using Chitimukulu who has ordered his subordinates chiefs to be collecting personal details of the people who are registering, it’s wrong. And then in border towns especially in Luapula, Northern and Eastern Provinces. In Eastern Province we have reports that they are registering under age children…Mozambicans, Malawians…Luapula they are also registering under age children and they are also registering Congolese.”

Mucheleka said the PF had clearly failed to govern, and they were now recruiting foreigners to vote in the 2021 general elections.

“What we are doing as UPND is that we have ordered, we have directed our people to begin to conduct citizens arrests in border areas, including any headman who will be collecting personal details of the people who are registering as voters,” said Mucheleka. “And in border towns we have also ordered our people to effect citizens arrests of those foreigners who are coming to register as voters. It’s wrong and it must stop. It is illegal, it’s against the law. If must come come to an end.”

Efforts to talk to Chitimukulu failed owing to failure to get through on his mobile line.

Lusaka widower sues KBF over late wife’s estate

0

Lusaka lawyer Kelvin Bwalya Fube has been sued by a widower who is seeking benefits from his late wife’s estate.

Mr Robbie Mulenga, who claims to be a beneficiary of the the estate of Priscilla Chilombo Musole, has sued Bwalya in his capacity as executor of the late wife’s estate.

Mr Mulenga, who is represented by Ituna Partners, wants the court to declare that his wife died partially intestate which portion of intestacy includes terminal benefits and pensions.
He also wants the court to declare that he is a beneficiary entitled to the portion of the estate of the late, that is partially intestate, which portion of intestacy includes terminal benefits and pensions.

And Mulenga wants the court to order Bwalya to distribute to him the portion of the estate of Priscilla that is distributable under the partial Intestacy or any other further relief the court may deem fit.

Mulenga in his affidavit filed in court stated that he was Priscilla’s husband until the time she died.

He stated that at the time of her death, Priscilla had executed a Will where she directed on how her assets must be administered and distributed.

Mulenga stated that under the same Will, Bwalya was appointed as the executor of the Will.
He stated that upon perusal of the Will, he discovered that among the assets to be distributed such as the pension benefits were not included.

Mulenga stated that since the pension benefits were not included in the Will, it means that Priscilla died partially intestate with regard to them.

He stated that he had been advised by his advocates and verily believed that since he was the surviving spouse, he was one of the beneficiaries of the pension benefits.

According to her Will and Testament, Priscilla wished that: “My flat at NIPA Government flats I give to my two children, supervision, my elder sister. The property will be held as a joint tenancy when one of the children attains age of 21. before then, the rent proceeds must be utilised to pay her education,” she stated. “The plot in Chamba Valley should also be given to my two children, each to get an equal share. My liabilities should be leased from my terminal benefits, my property in Palabana, I give to my children. I hereby appoint Kelvin Fube Bwalya to be the executor of my estate,” read the Will.

Amounts Ruled by Constitutional Court for Thieving Ministers to Pay Back is a Gross Miscarriage of Justice – Simataa

Amounts Ruled by Constitutional Court for Thieving Ministers to Pay Back is a Gross Miscarriage of Justice – Simataa
—————————————————————
By City Reporter | 8 Dec 2020 | Lusaka

Firebrand UPND aspiring councillor for Kamwala Ward 5 Mainda Simataa says the amounts ruled by the constitutional court for PF Ministers who overstayed in office to repay is an example of how inefficient and unreliable the Judiciary in Zambia has become in dispensing justice under the PF regime.

Simataa who describes the ruling as a gross miscarriage of Justice, wondered what kind of arithmetic the Concourt bench of judges used to come up with the average K50,000 per thief, when the thieving PF Ministers drew illegal salaries, allowances and other fringe benefits like free housing, free gas and free talktime throughout the 3 months they illegally stayed in office and abused government machinery during the 2016 election campaigns.
“The Emoluments Act at the time of theft by public servant by PF Ministers fixed the basic salary of each Minister at K46,000 per month, meaning in 3 months, each thief pocketed a minimum of K138,000. Add to that, the purchasing power of the Kwacha was twice stronger then, than it is today. So in real 2016 economic terms, each thieving minister pocketed K276,000, and now they’re paying back 20% of the stolen monies. Is that justice? ” asked Simataa.

“So really, I don’t see how this is a victory worth celebrating because K50,000 is what these thieves spend on a night out at Sarravor Towers or Chicago’s at East Park. It’s pocket change, it’s what they give their side-chicks as up-keep allowance for a month, it’s a one-off donation to a church on any given Sunday, it can’t even buy a Marcopolo (in reference to luxury buses PF ministers have been buying and donating to their Constituencies). So what’s all the hoolabaloo and jubilation about when this is nothing but another miscarriage of justice?” asked Simataa.

Simataa, who also serves as UPND Kabwata Constituency IPS (far right) was one of 5 youths, namely Matomola Likwanya – Lusaka District Vice IPS (far left), Reagan Mubatsa – Keembe Constituency IPS/Chikobo Ward Councillor (centre) and two others, Nevers Lupiya and Prince Shilunguta who protested at the Ministry of Justice in 2017 demanding for Ministers to Pay back the money.

Simataa adds, “everyone knows that the thieves won’t pay back the money as long as the one who allowed them to steal is still President. Only a UPND government led by HH will compel them to PAY back, and that’s one of the reasons people must register to vote, to remove these corrupt thieves from power, and clean-up the rotten Judiciary”.

To Win 2021, Veteran Upnd Mps Will Have To Give Way To New Faces

0

By Brian Chikuni.
If for example UPND Monze legislator Jack Mwiimbu stood as MP in Monze the 10th time assuming his age supported him, he would still win the seat because Jack is Monze and Monze is Jack Mwiimbu. But that’s not the bone of contention here. The real and critical argument is, would this matter-ofcourse, galvanise and excite a new base that would draw more voters to the centre for his President Hakainde Hichilema, and deliver him the Republican Presidency? Or would such a foregone scenario risk creating complacency of a fatigued electorate and be uninspiring to new and undecided voters? Why would anyone be willing to build muscles to push an open door?

These and many more questions are what the long serving UPND MPs and other Party officials have to grapple with as they sell their Presidential candidate whose core theme, ironically is change. Jack Mwiimbu is just one such example among many in the UPND, of a politician whose legitimate popularity at a local level attracts an already converted conservative base, but that is unlikely to draw a crucial body of voters that often swings the pendulum towards the victor. These include the new voters who by their nature, will always seek for something new and exciting, and the undecided who want to be certain whether there is something new hovering on the political horizon of change, before they crossover.

The UPND adoption or re-adoption process at constituency level especially of their popular veterans like Gary Nkombo of Mazabuka, Cornelius Mweetwa of Choma and Moono Lubezyi of Namwala, will determine whether it will convincingly inspire nationwide confidence in their much heralded theory of ‘time for change’. Inorder to re energize their image and make it resonate with change, UPND will have to undertake a process of ecdysis where a snake sheds its skin to adopt a vicious and fresh outlook. In such a case nothing beats a Tonga idiom of ‘Nyeele mpya njibambula mulomo’ which if loosely translated would be ‘the newer the trumpet, the better the sound’. This doesn’t take on the meaning of getting rid of the old, but rather willing to give way to the new, by the old.

Most UPND veteran lawmakers have over the years taken a national outlook and respectability as a result of their defence of parliamentary democracy and protocols. If these MPs vacated their long held seats and instead dedicated their services to the presidential campaign team on a full scale, their efforts would win support nationally, from Zambians that have applauded the checks and balances they have gallantly offered the front bench. This would ultimately deliver their party President the Republican presidency that he so rightly and legitimately deserves.

But if UPND does not carry out this critical snake self molting or shedding of its old skin at both top party and constituency level, they will make it harder for Zambians to believe the change they are preaching about is real or rhetorical.

Nshindano is a Useful Idiot: How Can Luapula, Eastern beat Lusaka, Southern in terms of Registered Voters? – Simataa
—————————————————————
By CIC Reporter | 8 Dec 2020 | Lusaka
—————————————————————
UPND firebrand Kamwala Ward 5 aspiring councillor Mainda Simataa has charged that ECZ CEO Patrick Nshindano is a useful idiot who’s being used like a door mat in the PF’s 2021 rigging scheme. Simataa says Nshindano’s refusal to disclose a breakdown of registered voters by province is criminal, and will land him in jail for electoral sabotage.

Yesterday, ECZ published a latest update of registered voters nationwide on their Facebook page, but it only showed a block figure of 4,321,319 Zambians registered so far in 3 weeks. However, the report did not provide a breakdown of the figures to show how many Zambians had registered per province as is required by law and the tenets of transparency and accountability in a public institution.

Simataa has consistently accused Nshindano of colluding with the PF to reduce the number of voters in UPND strongholds, and has predicted that Luapula and Muchinga provinces will tally more registered voters than Southern and central Provinces, a prediction which now seems believable given Nshindano’s secrecy, and with only 5 days to go before the registration excercise ends, with no hope of further extension in sight.

“I have always said that ECZ is now acting as an elections committee of the PF, chaired and controlled by PF SG Davies Mwila himself. Mwila knows the breakdown, and it’s Mwila and his chief rigging planner Emmanuel Mwamba who’re calling the shots at ECZ; it’s they who’ve directed and gagged their sickly looking puppet Nshindano not to give registration data to the opposition and other electoral stakeholders because it will definitely come as a shock when people discover what we already know, namely, that a sparsely populated region like Luapula has miraculously registered more voters than Southern Province, and Eastern more than a highly urbanized Lusaka, how’s that possible? Any demographer and statistician will tell you this is an absolute joke” said Simataa.

Simataa, who is also UPND Kabwata Constituency Information and Publicity Secretary has since challenged ECZ CEO Nshindano to dispute these FACTS by publishing a breakdown of the latest update by province.

President Edgar Changwa Lungu Can Stand For A Third Time – Jonas Shakafuswa

0

By Jonas Shakafuswa.
Lusaka – 8th December, 2020.
I personally have no objection to President Edgar Changwa Lungu standing for a third time. If he feels he is the best candidate for PF and a capable manager for Zambia, then let him allow the people to decide. ECL heads the executive branch of government today which is responsible for law and order in the country.

He is also the head of all government departments under different ministries charged with responsibility of providing services and welfare to all the Zambians. He has the Constitution as a guideline for his rule. The Constitution guides that we are One Zambia One Nation, a Christian Nation. We are a unitary state with 73 tribes united under one tribe, Zambia. The test of the 2021 won’t be necessarily infrastructure development or debt default.

It will be how he has upheld the values enshrined in the Constitution. How has he related to the Constitution giving the people a multiparty state? Has he respected the right of the people to belong to political parties of their choice? Has he allowed parties to operate and associate freely? Have the people been subjected to the rule of law? How has he featured on the application of the law against people’s rights and freedom. How have the people benefitted from the vast natural resources the country is endowed with?

These are the questions his Ministers will avoid in Cabinet but we boldly pursued in our era. How has he related in balancing of the distribution of wealth to all regions? How has been the balance of appointments in government positions in relation to One Zambia One Nation? How has he managed violent thuggery behaviour of cadres?

For me, a confident ECL should level the playing field to make his candidacy plausible. Let him send Kampyongo to go back and issue NRCs to areas in need. Let him ask ECZ to capture all potential voters. There should be no cry of lack of resources as we have seen senior government officials giving very huge handouts. How can leaders have more money than the state and its people?

All these questions are for the campaign. For me, I wish my brother good health and God’s guidance as he prepares to convince and not bully the people of Zambia to his further 5 years of what we have experienced of his 6 years of rule.Is post 2021 going to be different?

Let us not hide our inefficiency and lack of leadership and sheer failure to campaign based on tribe. Tribe should have no basis in this campaign. Political failures are trying to use fear and hate & tribal rhetoric to get sympathy from their tribes. How does this divisive political rhetoric relate to One Zambia One Nation?

This is far from what I expect from an objective 2021 people oriented campaign that is deliberately pushing power to the people to choose the leader of their choice.

Morality & Intergrity Is Key In Institutions Though That Element Lacked In The Latest Ruling On ECL’s Eligibility

0

TAKE TIME TO READ THIS
MY PERSONAL OBSERVATION
MORALITY & INTERGRITY IS KEY IN INSTITUTIONS THOUGH THAT ELEMENT LACKED IN THE LATEST RULING ON ECL’S ELIGIBILITY
The reason why the late President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa popularly know as “ICHIBUMBA” was called as lawyer wama lawyer and crowned him as among the best lawyers ever in Zambia is very simple. The reason is whenever the late President was on the bench to adjudicate or excute legal issues his priority was not necessarily about money or fame as purse but was to look at the case from the MORALITY and INTERGRITY aspect. But Son of HH what do you mean or insinuating here?Well what I mean or rather insinuating is that “MORALITY” and “INTERGRITY” is paramount or cardinal as that borders or encamps on ethical and professional norms.

The issue of Concourt’s latest verdict or ruling on President ECL’s eligibility has left us with tight lipped because the judges that we entrusted and delegated with our responsibilities to excute or define the clause using their legal minds based on the proper ethics and professionalism anchored on “MORALITY”and “INTERGRITY” ve lamentably failed us.
The latest Concourt has contradicted what is in both the 1996 and 2016 Amended Constitution and therefore it is not absolutely in tandem with the ruling. The lacunas that are there should not give someone a leeway to manipulate the clause based on IMMORTALITY and UNINTERGRITY.

Just like in the Bible we ve seemingly different scriptures on one issue at times contradicting the other one but we intelligently harmonize the scriptures based on MORALITY and INTERGRITY without forgetting who we are as Children of God and I believe the Concourt Judges could ve risen above the occasion and do the same thing i.e to diagnose and scrutinize at it from the bigger or broader perspective.

In other words going by the bogus Concourt ruling,I would say that the Concourt has misguided itself and gone astray by authenticating and rubberstamping indirectly the “THIRD TERM” that which is not in tandem with the constitution or simply unconstitutional.Let us critically look or decipher it going by their narrow thinking, since ECL completed only Sata’s term for Two years which is off course less than 5yrs for a stipulated term…now are they telling us that if ECL wins (of course we know that he won’t win) in 2021 it Will imply that he is going to rule for 12yrs and the other question that may arose is that does that consists of two terms 10yrs or 12yrs which is more than the 2 terms which is 10yrs or what?

On the other hand I feel that the Concourt only ruled on the “term of office “ but did not dwell or delve on “ECL’s eligibility” just like what our friend the Brilliant and learned Keith Mweemba said. The Concourt should ve adequately dealt with firstly the “TERM OF OFFICE and secondly ECL’S ELIGIBILITY and then harmonize them like we do in scriptures and then subsequently pass the ruling unlike what they did to rule on single sidedly
When Dr Nevers Mumba has been preaching for about more than 23 or 24yrs the need to ve MORALITY and INTERGRITY in the every areas of our life this is what he meant and some of you could ve attacked Dr Nevers Mumba but guess what he saw it prophetically.

Based all those issues I ve highlighted with due respect allow me to honour posthumously this son of the Soil called the late President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa as one of the best lawyer/Attorney and no wonder his law firm was not closed at one time or embroidered in controversies that could ve compromised him as a lawyer.Bashi Chipo in your absential We salute you ,we say hats off and we give you the standing ovation for your examplary duties that you rendered relentlessly and effortlessly to our country based on intergrity and morality. They called you the Cabbage ignorantly but you proved them otherwise that you steak that is full of life and proactive.Trully you died as a real State Counsel worth emulating.

You allowed the institutions to work autonomously and inturn that skyrocketed democratic tenets and multipartisim in Zambia as enshrined in the preamble of the constitution.Suffice to say that I’m not just honouring you because I’m equally called “Bashi Chipo” but candidly based on your services of delivery you rendered to this country effortlessly and relentlessly even though your health was weak and unfailing you.We love you Sir and continue resting In Peace.

Corruption Is The Reason Why PF Awarded 8% Increment To Public Workers

0

PRESS STATEMENT
8 TH DECEMBER 2020
CORRUPTION IS THE REASON WHY PF AWARDED 8% INCREMENT TO PUBLIC WORKERS
We sympathize with all civil servants and public workers for being given 8% increment under the prevailing harsh economic conditions, brought about by PF’s Ubomba Mwibala alya Mwibala. From the way PF has looted public resources, we knew that the PF regime has left nothing to give civil servants a decent increment. Any reasonable increment should sit above the inflation rate and add value to ones disposable income.. We fail to understand why this PF regime is failing to pay its employees a living wage but are ready to bribe voters with huge sums of money. Very soon this junk PF regime will default on payment of salaries.

It’s illogical and senseless to give employees a single digit increment of 8% against the back drop of double digit inflation rate coupled with a weak Kwacha. At the end of the day a worker does not see any significance of such an increment. We fail to understand why this junk PF is punishing Civil servants by giving them peanuts. Meanwhile this junk PF regime is busy giving handouts that are above the pension of an average civil servant. Surely, PF leaders must be ashamed of themselves for mocking Government employees with such a meaningless increment.

What this junk PF regime is forgetting is that already the take home pay has been eroded by inflation and the weak Kwacha. This has de motivate all Government employees. Further, this careless and irresponsible behavior by this junk PF regime will spread to the private sector. Who will copy these bad manners and deny their employees a meaningful salary increment even when they are making huge profits. Majority of workers under the junk PF live below the poverty datum line.

To our hard working civil servants and public workers, we know that PF has neglected you. But be assured that HH will restore your lost dignity; we value your contribution to National Development. The culture of stealing from your toil and sweat will come to an end immediately HH and his team takes over Government in 2021.

HH treasures you as the most valuable asset and not mere tools of production. UPND will review your conditions of service including transfers that have separated you from your families.

THE JOURNEY OF JUDICIAL INTEGRITY IN ZAMBIA

0

By CIC Archives and Research.
THE JOURNEY OF JUDICIAL INTEGRITY IN ZAMBIA.
“Confidence in the Judiciary is a delicate bloom in Africa and I am not going to risk destroying its growth in Zambia,” said James John Skinner, Chief Justice of Zambia, in his resignation letter reported in the Times of Zambia of 25 September 1969.
Skinner, born on 24 July 1923 was an Irish-born Zambian politician and jurist. In 1951, Skinner emigrated to Northern Rhodesia. He was called to the Bar of Northern Rhodesia in 1951. A defender of African rights, Skinner joined the mainly African United National Independence Party (UNIP) in 1960 and quickly became the party’s legal advisor. He was ostracized by many whites. Friends cold shouldered him, acquaintances ignored him and strangers insulted him.

In 1962 he risked a jail term by refusing to register for potential National Service under the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland Defense Act, stating the Federal Army was a terror force used to oppress the majority of Northern Rhodesia’s citizens.

He stood for parliament in the same year but lost for lack of European support in the very complex voting system of the time. Undeterred he continued to campaign for UNIP and two years later he won Lusaka East on the basis of “one man one vote” beating his African opponent by a handsome margin. He was the only white man to be returned by electors who were all African.

Mr Skinner became a Zambian citizen by registration. In 1964, in the first election following independence, he was elected to represent Lusaka East constituency in parliament while Elijah Mudend took Lusaka West. From independence, Skinner was appointed Minister of Justice, then later he was also appointed as the Attorney General of Zambia until 1967. Consequently, he became the first Minister of Justice of independent Zambia and the only White member of Zambia’s first cabinet.

Later in March 1969, he was appointed Chief Justice of Zambia. Skinner did not last long in his position as Chief Justice in Zambia. He resigned six months later in September 1969 following a clash with President Kenneth Kaunda over the sentencing of Portuguese soldiers from neighbouring Angola. The soldiers were caught on the Zambian side of the Angolan-Zambian border and were arrested. A fellow expatriate jurist, Ifor Evan, concluded the original arrest of the soldiers was “trivial” and dismissed the charges. When the issue was appealed to Skinner, he sided with Evans. Kaunda, a long time friend of Skinner, attacked the White-dominated court for siding with the soldiers.

“It is one of the functions of the judiciary to criticize the action of the executive or its individual servants whenever the need arises. If that right is denied then the courts would no longer effectively carry out their duties.”

The interchange between President Kaunda and the Chief Justice Skinner was followed by organized and widespread demonstrations against the judiciary throughout Zambia. An attack was then made on the High Court in Lusaka by the Zambia Youth Service, a uniformed force of the Republic. Supporters of Kaunda stormed the court building following the ruling, attacking the Whites inside. The building was broken into, in consequence of which members of the judiciary had to barricade themselves in chambers. The demonstrations that were held throughout the country lead to several magistrate court buildings being broken into. Posters grossly abusive to members of the judiciary were carried by the demonstrators and offensive statements concerning Chief Justice Skinner and Mr. Justice Evans were made by officials of UNIP.

This outburst however, shocked President Kaunda. This was the scene of events in September 1969 that lead Chief Justice James Skinner, to resign. He had been legal advisor to UNIP and a close friend of Kenneth Kaunda. He had been highly influential in helping to steer the country towards independence. He was the only white minister in Zambia’s first government when he held the justice portfolio.

Kaunda quickly apologised, but Evan and Skinner fled the country, with Skinner going on “indefinite sick leave”.

In his letter of resignation, he stated that the abuse to which he was subjected by UNIP officials must have affected the confidence of “the common man” in him as chief justice and in a judiciary headed by him. Confidence in the judiciary was a delicate bloom in Africa, he wrote, “and I am not going to risk destroying it in Zambia”. He felt that if the rule of law was to prosper in Zambia, ordinary Zambians must have confidence in the judiciary, only then would full democracy be brought about .

Skinner was adamant that the independence of the judiciary was necessary to preserve democracy and the rule of law, and thus resigned. He was unwilling to work in a system that betrayed these principles although, President Kaunda condemned the violence that had occurred. He later apologized for what had happened and invited Skinner to resume his duties, Skinner declined. President Kaunda was caught between his respect for an independent Judiciary and the nationalist outrage of Zambian citizens over the Portuguese who had been bombing Zambian villages in order to hit the anti-Portuguese guerrillas.
Skinner was close to Kaunda. Remember the night without a president?

In the book “The night without a President”, veteran politician Sikota Wina’s shows how tribalism almost destroyed the new independent nation of Zambia in the late 1960s; forcing President Kaunda to resign for a night. The leaders of that time didn’t work towards resolving their tribal differences and that problem remains to date. If there is something that “The night without a President” reveals, it is that tribal suspicion has a history in our political discourse. Just as some Easterners and Lozis vowed not to support a Bemba then, the situation has not changed that much. Kaunda was said to be saddened by these developments. Fearing he was losing control of the party, Kaunda ‘verbally’ resigned as President – he never tendered that critical resignation letter – and this ‘resignation’ resulted in that now famous “night without a president”. The reason given by Kaunda’s handlers to explain the resignation was that the party had been divided along tribal lines and that Kaunda had offered to resign the presidency because he was (allegedly) too hurt by the tribalism going on in the country and he would not lead a party based on those principles.

However, Valentine Musakanya’s account of this event, – as detailed in the “Musakanya Papers”; a book by Valentine Musakanya and which catalogues Kaunda’s increasing dictatorial and autocratic tendencies – alleges that, in actual fact, this was just a ploy by Kaunda to call the dissenters’ bluff and wrestle back the power of the party.

Musakanya posited that “Kaunda orchestrated this whole episode and merely pretended that he was resigning in order to see if Simon Kapwepwe (his controversial and mysterious Vice-President) was really loyal to him. Like a typical Mafia boss, absolute personal loyalty was the most important thing to Kaunda, so he asked his informants to tell him exactly how Kapwepwe would react to the news of his resignation. Fortunately for Kapwepwe, he did not fall for this insidious trap: he joined the rest in beseeching their ‘great irreplaceable leader to rescind his unbearable decision!’”

Musakanya reminds the reader to keep in mind that UNIP was preparing to contest the first general elections since independence and could ill afford any party discord. Kaunda’s verbal, and not written resignation, was a calculated move and only done after getting legal advice from the Attorney General (AG) James Skinner and the Chief Justice. The AG had advised Kaunda, that a verbal resignation was a ‘nullity’, in other words, something which may be treated as nothing, as if it did not exist or never happened. This had the desired effect and Kaunda was gratefully reinstated as President. Having averted this power struggle in UNIP, Kaunda then saw his Government lose many seats to the opposition parties in the General elections of 1968.

John James Skinner was also a political gymnast.
I digress…. A month after Skinner went on “leave”, he resigned and was replaced on the court by Brian Doyle, a fellow White Zambian.

He however remained on good terms with President Kaunda after his resignation.
Following his time as a Zambian jurist, he practiced at the Irish Bar before being appointed Chief Justice of Malawi in 1970, a position he held for 15 years UP TO 1985. During the presidency of the dictatorial Hastings Banda he managed to ensure the stability and independence of the judiciary.
Skinner died on 21st October 2008.

Nshindano Must Resign – NDC

0

Press Statement
For immediate release
8th December 2020
RESIGNATION OF PATRICK KRYTICOUS NSHINDANO AS DIRECTOR OF ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA [ECZ]

As NDC Lusaka Province we wish to comment on the latest statement by ECZ Spokesperson Margaret Chimanse exonerating her office from any involvement in the issuance of voter’s cards to youths below the age of 18 years.

Chimanse claims that the photos circulating on social media were doctored to tarnish the good image of the ECZ.
As NDC, we strongly disagree with ECZ for trying to hoodwink the general public that it has no knowledge about underage youths

accessing voters’ cards in PF strongholds. We wish to advise Chimanse that in this era of Smart phones and social media, there is almost nothing secret.

Chimanse must be reminded that PF cadres have shown extreme desperation to win the 2021 Elections and in doing so they have compelled the ECZ to issue voters’ cards to underage youths.

We also wish to advise Chimanse, that the ECZ has no credibility at all. The ECZ lost credibility in 2016 when Chairperson Justice Esau Chulu helped President Edgar Lungu to win those elections.

Chulu announced fake results from Chitulika Constituency which is non-existent. The reality is that Chitulika is a Polling Station in Muchinga Province.
In addition, Chulu announced results in Lundazi Constituency which were more than the number of registered voters.

As NDC Lusaka province, we warned Patrick Kryticous Nshindano that he risked tarnishing his reputation by accepting the position of Chief Electoral Officer. While we understand the financial rewards involved, we have been vindicated because Nshindano’s reputation has been grossly tarnished. Nshindano is now taking the blame for messing up the entire Voter Registration Exercise resulting in national complaints.

Nshindano and not Chulu is the one who is being blamed for the mess. Therefore, we are urging Nshindano to save his little credibility by resigning from this mess which poses a serious risk to national security.

In case Nshindano is not aware, Zambians including the underage youths induced by PF are registering as voters not to oppose the opposition but to vote out the PF for creating an economic crisis.

Zambians are spending over five (5) hours lining up to get the voters cards as a tool to fix the Lungu administration.
Nshindano, we have warned you, resign now

PF The Government Of Cowards Who Cant Stomach The Idea Of Losing To UPND Now Issuing Empty And Baseless Threats- Makayi

By Edward Roy Makayi.
…PRESS RELEASE
PF THE GOVERNMENT OF COWARDS WHO CANT STOMACH THE IDEA OF LOSING TO UPND NOW ISSUING EMPTY AND BASELESS THREATS-MAKAYI.

If Lusaka Province PF Secretary Mr Kennedy Kamba has no transport to go to Luapula and check how kids are being given NRCs and Voters cards I can sponsor him go come plus lodging and all the foods he wants I am warning him to stop dragging Southern province in his stupidity thinking and illusion. We all know where those kids are even Mr Kennedy Kamba knows very well how ECZ is exposed pants down right there in Luapula province not Southern so how foolish of him to drag UPND into PF madness?.

The best Mr Kamba can do is shut his mouth when sensible people like Hon Charles Kakoma the UPND spokesperson and Dr Chishimba NDC president are talking they mean well for Zambia not him (Mr Kamba). Mr Kamba has no moral fiber worthy media attention to yap about propaganda over things he knows can be proved in his eyes and I challenge him to name the place in Southern province where he thinks UPND are parading and staging kids for the camera. UPND is a very serious party with sensible things to do , our president Mr Hakainde Hichilema, Secretary General Hon Stephen Katuka and our spokesman Hon Charles Kakoma are in high gear looking for the best in ECZ because they are mandated to carry this electoral process a very sensitive and challenging task. It’s Kennedy Kamba and his PF who have distorted the reputation of ECZ to lose public confidence so Mr Kamba must shut his mouth and let us (sensible people) speak.

Speaking of peace or violence is it not Mr Kamba who caused the death of Mapenzi Chibulo in 2016 when he threatened that the UPND Chawama rally must not go on because him (Mr Kamba ) PF will not allow it, thence against electoral process there was no legal boundaries to merit his threats UPND lost Mapenzi Chibulo shot by the known police officer arising from the defiance of going ahead with the rally all because of what Mr Kamba threatened. Now he has the audacity to tell us that PF is peaceful where ? Whom is he fooling and whom is he threatening? We are prepared like yesterday for massive showdown however style he wants it if he thinks the UPND of 2016 is the same UPND of 2020 Mr Kamba ukatolamo 5 am waning you we are not going to be threatened by you never if ECZ go wrong it’s our duty as patriotic citizens to correct them and our message is that they must stop issuing Voters cards to kids in Luapula province so instead of yapping nonsense go to Luapula and check for yourself than dragging Southern province in nonsense.

You guys are cowards who can’t stomach the fact that you are going come what may Zambians have resolved to change the government that has stolen so much, the government that reduced the republic to a junky state. Mr Kamba if we check very well he could be the person instructing ECZ in Luapula to give under age voters.

Now let me address all of you PF that the UPND in Luayand the entire country will make sure no child queues to vote wether you give them those NRCs and voters cards you are just wasting materials because we will chase them all. Luapula is now an epicenter which is marked for all electoral frauds by PF taking advantage of the people we are coming in with full force in Luapula we shall meet head on.

Constitution eliminates Lungu from 2021 race – Kazabu

0

IT’S not anyone of us who is stopping President Lungu from contesting next year’s elections, argues Luxon Kazabu.

On Friday, The Mast reported chief Cooma of Choma district saying there is no need for anyone to try and stop President Edgar Lungu and UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema from contesting the August 2021 polls, because both are citizens who deserve to participate in the politics of their country.

“There is no need for anyone to come up with schemes to try and stop President Edgar Lungu or Hakainde Hichilema from contesting the 2021 general elections because the two are bona fide Zambian citizens who deserve to participate in the politics of their own country,” said Cooma. “As a country, let’s not waste time trying to fight our own sons for merely seeking political office. The court already ruled what constitutes a term and we all know what that means.”

Lungu won the Republican presidency in January 2015 and retained it in August 2016.

Article 106 (3) of the Constitution of Zambia states that: “a person who has twice held office as President is not eligible for election as President.”

Nonetheless, the PF leadership and rank insists that Lungu would be its presidential candidate in August 2021 because ‘he has only served one term of office.’

Still on the strength of Article 106 (3), numerous stakeholders continue to argue that President Lungu would be abrogating the Constitution if he goes ahead with his third term presidential scheme.

“It’s not anyone of us who is stopping President Lungu from contesting next year’s elections. It is the Constitution! He has twice held office,” Kazabu reacted to Cooma. “And please, His Royal Highness chief Cooma must learn to read what the Constitution says. [If] he hasn’t got the capacity to understand and interpret the Constitution as it was meant by the drafters, he should ask those who understand to explain to him what is involved.”

Under Michael Sata’s government, Kazabu was a fisheries and livestock deputy minister and Nkana PF member of parliament.

Kazabu said at no time has the Constitutional Court said President Lungu was eligible for the 2021 presidential vote.

“Some people are saying President Lungu was just completing Mr Sata’s term. There is no such thing as completing one’s term of office, unless now when you have a Vice-President who is a running mate,” he explained. “But before [enactment of the amended Constitution, Act No.2 of 2016], there was nothing like you are completing another person’s term.”

He stressed that: “the moment you got elected, it means that you were serving your own term of office.”

“Whether it was six months or one year, you were serving your own term of office,” he said.

Kazabu pointed out the misnomer with Cooma’s view that no one should stop President Lungu and Hichilema from contesting the presidential 2021elections, “because both are Zambians.”

“The issue here is not whether or not one is a Zambian. [But] the issue is about one having held office twice. That’s what eliminates President Lungu from next year’s contest for the presidential seat,” he noted. “Yes, we should embrace each other, as this chief is saying. But that’s not to suggest that we must ignore what the Constitution says. That is the principal law of the law and as such, we should all respect it – chief or no chief.”

Kazabu emphasised that it was not about anyone scheming to block President Lungu.

“But it’s about Zambians who mean well for this country – defending the Constitution. Yes, we all agree that the term of office for the President is five years. That is assuming that all [happened] under normal circumstances,” Kazabu noted.

“But in this case we are talking about President Lungu having ascended to that office after the demise of president Michael Sata – may his soul rest in peace. He (Lungu) did not automatically assume office; we had to have a by-election and then he won and got sworn-in into office [in 2015].”

He stressed that President Lungu held office from the day he was sworn in January 2015 until the next President-elect in 2016 was sworn-in.

“In this case it happens to be the same President Lungu. So, he held office for the first time from January 2015 to September 2016 and now he is holding office for the second time, from September 2016 until August 2021,” Kazabu explained. “I don’t even understand why people are debating the ineligibility of Lungu for 2021. It’s not like the Constitution’s particular provision is written in complicated English. It is written in very simple English!”

He further charged that it was the likes of people like Cooma who could mislead the nation and: “mutilate, rape the Republican Constitution.”

“And that’s what some of us are saying no to and it’s a big NO. President Lungu is not eligible! It’s not coming from any one of us. All we are doing – those of us who love Zambia and we are honest – is to understand the simple provisions in the Constitution and in this particular case it’s Article 106 (3). Kwamana (finish)!” said Kazabu. “Ibami kabalilemeka abalo nobantu (let chiefs respect themselves please), because before they know it we the subjects would have risen against them, for not standing for mother Zambia. It is not about individuals but the Republic of Zambia and its principal law – the Republican Constitution. Full stop!”

Losing an election is painful, says Lusambo

0

LUSAKA Province minister Bowman Lusambo says it is painful to lose an election hence the need for all PF members to go flat out and recruit more new people in readiness for 2021 polls.

Speaking at a fundraising braai organised by the PF mobilisation team in Southern Province held at Choma Hotel on Saturday, Lusambo who was the guest of honour and gave K50,000 cash urged all party members to work together as a team for them to produce parliamentarians next year.

“Losing an election is not a simple thing, it’s very painful. We need to go out and recruit more new members not just mobilising our own people but new ones then hand them over to the main structure,” he said. “Make sure that you penetrate all districts in Southern Province. Let us pull up our socks as PF and this time around we will have PF MPs in the province. We need to make sure that 2021 we have MPs.”

Lusambo challenged party members to go to the people and explain the goodness of the PF.

“Let’s go to where UPND is and not campaigning from within ourselves who already know the goodness of PF,” he said.

Lusambo said Southern Province had no owner or a person with a title deed.

“As mobilisation committee team, let’s work together with structures. And for those in structures we are not here to get your positions. Don’t feel like the mobilisation team is there to grab your positions,” Lusambo explained.

He expressed happiness that PF was growing in Southern Province.

And speaking earlier on Byta FM’s live phone in programme dubbed Hot Potato, Lusambo vowed that time for opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to give Caeser what belongs to him even if it’s after 50 years over the privatisation saga would come.

“Whatever HH did wrong during privatisation, he will pay one day and when we talk like that it doesn’t mean that we hate him, no. But we just want him to explain himself to the Zambian people,” he said.

And Lusambo castigated UPND members of parliament for what he termed as “only eating Mr Speaker’s fritters” instead of representing the people.

“Those people you sent to parliament under the opposition here don’t represent you. They have just gone to eat Mr Speaker’s fritters and when done they go back. Now in Parliament we debate, we fight for what we want but them are always outside. It’s very unfortunate that as Southerners you have been cheated by the UPND,” said Lusambo.

Meanwhile, PF member of the central committee Kebby Mbewe pointed out that his party needed more time to finish up all developmental programmes in the country.

“We are asking for more time because we can’t just do cadabracadabra [abracadabra] to create roads and other developmental projects. In fact, we need to clap for PF for doing a lot in a short period of time,” said Mbewe.

And former defence minister Richwell Siamunene claimed that the development the PF had so far undertaken countrywide was unprecedented.

The event raised K147,000.

Luonde warns of more PF killings in 2021

0

FATHER Richard Luonde has warned that if the PF leadership does not control its violent cadres more people will be killed in 2021.

He also says President Edgar Lungu should be ashamed to seek a third term of office after destroying the country.

Fr Luonde, who is the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) national chairperson, said because PF has tolerated violence from its membership, ordinary youths have also taken it up.

“If this situation is not controlled, a lot of people will be killed, come 2021. You cannot say because those leaders being insulted by PF cadres are from the opposition, so it is fine. Very soon they will start beating all of you PF leaders publicly,” he warned in an interview. “This is a monster you have created and it is still growing. PF does not belong to individuals, it’s a national party which should look into the interest of the nation.”

Fr Luonde who gave a catalogue of shameful incidents committed by PF cadres against their leaders, said “this is the worst our country has ever reached politically”.

“It is only in PF government where ministers are abused by their party cadres. Last year it was [justice minister] Given Lubinda who was beaten by PF cadres in Kabwata. This year we have Stephen Kampyongo being insulted almost every day by PF cadres,” Fr Luonde said. “And just last week, we had a PF member of parliament in Bahati Constituency [Charles Chalwe] who was physically attacked by PF cadres. What is causing all this is because PF has been promoting violence all along. Look at how [UPND leader] Hakainde Hichilema and [NDC leader] Chishimba Kambwili have been openly insulted by PF cadres, to the extent of insulting their parents. And no one has been arrested for such insults even when the culprits are very well known.”

He said youths had now found it favourable to commit crimes in the ruling party’s name.

Fr Luonde wondered if that was the legacy PF wanted to bequeath itself with.

“Youths are now saying as long as they shout the name of PF, they can do anything criminal and get away with it. For as long as they align themselves with PF they can even kill and go scot-free. This is the message this government has sent across the country. We have a government that has bred and sponsored criminals against its own people – against the people it was elected to protect,” Fr Luonde said. “And this is the legacy PF will leave when they lose power next year! That they were a government that tolerated criminals committing crimes in their name. And if the PF leadership does not deal with this scourge, the country will be doomed. This level of State-sponsored violence has never happened in our country. We have never seen a situation where pupils begin to fight before they start writing their final examinations. Where are they learning this from? It’s because they are seeing how those in government are treating those in the opposition.”

And Fr Luonde has asked the PF to allow another party take over government because they have failed.

“One should be ashamed to even think of running for a third term when they have brought the country to its knees economically. PF should let and allow other people to run the affairs of our country, come 12th August 2021,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fr Luonde called on citizens to scrutinise all politicians offering themselves for leadership.

He said many of them are wolves in sheep’s clothing “who pretend to be humble and loving when they are just wolves”.

“Let us begin to scrutinise all the leaders vying for the presidency of our beloved country. We have worse dictators who are yet to be exposed. God has given us good guidance through what we are experiencing and going through currently. Most leaders have surrounded themselves with minions who are simply there as praise singers just for crumbs that fall from their masters’ dinner tables,” said Fr Luonde. “We need genuine leaders to come and move this nation in the right direction. We do not need dictators who are going to make things worse than we are experiencing today. This will help us avoid unnecessary deaths through hunger and deprivation of very necessary social needs like health for all, jobs, better and affordable education and many more.”

THEY HAVE STOLEN…are branding many things but PF is losing – Kalaba

0

[By Chambwa Moonga in Chienge]

DEMOCRATIC Party president Harry Kalaba says those who are massively distributing branded political treats have stolen public money.

Meanwhile, Kalaba has wondered what spell can make the people of the “neglected” Luapula Province to cast a vote for the PF next year.

On Saturday afternoon, Kalaba and several other DP senior leaders addressed over a thousand people at Chipungu ground in Chienge district.

The event was a membership mobilisation rally and Kalaba entered Chienge elegantly, with a convoy of motor bikes and vehicles.

Chienge is an isolated, evidently needy district of Luapula Province.

Kalaba, who spoke in Icibemba, told a cheering gathering to recreate the Don’t Kubeba strategy on its drafters, the PF.

“They want your votes here, yet they don’t want to tar the Kashikishi-Lunchinda road and it has been years of promises,” Kalaba said. “If there are people who are greatly suffering due to government negligence, it’s you people of Chienge. Ba PF nabakokola (those in the PF have become too familiar with you). Even if they bring salt, mealie meal, bicycles, umutaba weshilu baukombola ilyo lipenene (benefit from somebody when they become desperate).”

He added that: “if you don’t benefit from the PF now, then it’s your fault.”

“If they send vehicles to pick you up to go and register as voters, don’t be refusing to use their transport. But let the secret of who to vote for remain with you,” Kalaba advised. “It’s the PF that introduced don’t kubeba (don’t disclose) but you have to replicate don’t kubeba on those in the PF. You can’t go on like this without a road. Show them next year that you cannot be deceived continuously. Whether they like it or not, in 2021 the PF is losing.”

The opposition leader pledged that once he becomes Zambia’s President, “I’ll strictly advance your interests, you people of Chienge.”

Kalaba underscored that he fully understands the hardships for the people of Chienge.

“I know how you’ve been taken advantage of for years, by politicians. You people are always mocked that all you need are K10 notes and then you go quite,” Kalaba said. “[But] I appeal to you Chipungu residents and village headmen alike, that please receive every goodies from the PF. Where will you ride those bicycles on, because there is no road here?”

He campaigned that there would no way people there would continue to only be ladders for politicians, “when nothing is being done to change the face of Chienge.”

“Don’t clap for your political exploiters! You must never make a decision not to vote for Kalaba because he didn’t give you DP-banded T-shirt. I’m just human and I cannot be perfect – I don’t meet all your social needs,” Kalaba said. “I never stole any public money. But those who are massively giving you branded T-shirts and other things bantu baiba balya (those are people who have stolen). They have diverted your money that was meant for this road (Kashikishi – Lunchinda). They went to buy these bicycles that they are today distributing, and you are there clapping for them.”

Kalaba pledged that once he becomes President, the bumpy Kashikishi-Lunchinda dusty road would be tarred.

The mentioned wearing road connects Nchelenge and Chienge districts.

“Don’t allow little things like caps to sway your mind on who to vote for. Allow me as Harry Kalaba and the DP to be in front so as to advance your socio-economic needs,” Kalaba pleaded.

“Therefore, give your vote to the DP at presidential, parliamentary and local government levels here in Chienge. Voting for Kalaba will mean you have helped yourselves.”

Before the rally, Kalaba and his staff visited senior chief Puta’s palace.

Puta of the Bwile people spoke passionately against politics of resentment in the country.

Meanwhile, Kalaba featured on a special interview programme on K FM radio in Mansa on Friday evening.

He stressed the now usual theme for awake Zambian politicians; “please, register as voters.”

“Don’t mind how long the process of registration takes; just endure and register as a voter, people of Luapula Province. There is no contest; Luapula Province is a totally neglected region,” Kalaba said. “So, nangu cisomo (even if it’s a spell of some kind), cisomo inshi ico (what kind of a spell is that) that will make them (people of Luapula) to go and vote for the PF. We want the people of Luapula Province to stand up and speak out to those who are eating and drinking, exclusively.”

Kalaba further noted: “those in the PF thought 2021 was really distant.”

“They obviously thought the year will not come – like it had gone to heaven. But here it is!” noted Kalaba.

Brace for Pangas, Bullets and Teargas: PF Won’t Go Down without a Fight – Simataa

Brace for Pangas, Bullets and Teargas: PF Won’t Go Down without a Fight – Simataa
—————————————————————
By CIC Reporter | 7 Dec 2020 | Lusaka
—————————————————————
UPND firebrand aspiring councillor for Kamwala Ward 5 Mainda Simataa (center) says the time has come for party youths to mobilize massive self-defense units in preperation to secure an election victory for HH, and economic salvation for the suffering Zambian people in 2021.

Simataa was reacting to threats of violence and tribal remarks issued against the UPND by PF chief cadres Innocence Kalimanshi and Nathan on the assignment program televised live on MUVI TV last night. The duo declared that UPND would not be allowed space to campain or speak to voters in any PF stronghold, except in their Tonga territories.

Simataa said the statements were consistent with the PF modus operandi for elections, adding that no one should cheat themselves that there will be incident-free and fair elections in 2021.

“If we really want peace, if we really want to win big as UPND, then we must prepare for the worst-case scenario, while hoping for the best outcomes. We must build-up overwhelming self-defense and vote protection units around every polling station to be manned by patriotic Zambians themselves, people prepared to move against PF pangas, tazer-guns, teagars, and even live bullets, because PF will not go down without a fight”.
Simataa adds that what people must understand is that PF is not the political party that Sata founded, but a bunch of political degenerates transformed into a sophisticated crime syndicate overun and overseen by a gang of thieving elites who’ve stolen way too much, and committed so many heinous crimes.

He said PF cadres like Innocent and Nathan understand very clearly that a loss of power for Lungu means poverty and destitution for them, and jail time for their erstwhile patrons and sponsors. “So expect that they’ll do anything to keep the stolen loot like a dog protects a bone. They’ll fight to the bitter end before losing power. We must understand that, and make sacrifices to meet them head-on”.

Simataa who’s also Kabwata Constituency Information and Publicity Secretary said that he wasn’t shocked when he watched PF cadre Innocent Kalimanshi and Nathan preach hate, intolerance and political violence against the UPND live on MUVI TV. “They’re paid for violence. They’ve been instructed to openly declared war on UPND, they have even gone further to declare Chawama which they call their camp, as a war zone with 1, 500 voters card-carrying PF militia whose job is to clobber anyone putting on a red t-shirt or speaking Tonga in their space.

“These PF criminals cannot be met with diplomacy, kid-gloves and speeches of democracy, they understand only one language – a superior show of force and overwhelming numbers, and that’s our only hope for change”, said Simataa.

PF thrives on lies, Sunday Chanda can’t be any better – UPND

0

THE United Party for National Development says PF media director Sunday Chanda should stop hallucinating and entertaining thoughts that Zambians can make a mistake of giving his party another mandate to govern beyond 2021.

In a statement, UPND deputy national youth chairman Gilbert Liswaniso said the UPND leadership was reluctant to comment on Chanda’s illusions because his tools of analysis were defective and could not be relied upon.

He said the PF media director’s assertion that the UPND have no chance of winning the 2021 general elections was laughable and only qualifies as a political joke under the current dispensation.

“We in the UPND further remind the Zambian people that this is the same Chanda who, as a mouthpiece of the then ruling MMD, projected himself as ‘Comical Ali’ against the PF in the run-up to the 2011 general elections,” Liswaniso said.

He said Chanda could only best be described as a political turncoat because as soon as his favourite party, the MMD, was ejected from power, he was already begging for employment from the PF, the party he despised with so much vigour and valour.

“We expect Comical Ali to be sober and learn from past experiences. He is keen to disparage us today but he will be at his lowest tomorrow when he starts another job hunt. We feel extremely sorry for the PF media director that he appears to have serious challenges learning from his mistakes of the past. We encourage him to take a moment of reflection on what happened in 2011 when the MMD government was removed from power,” he said.

Liswaniso added that Chanda appeared to be in a state of mental weariness to believe that his party’s popularity was growing based on the number of by-elections won in UPND strongholds and defections to the ruling PF regime.

He said Chanda should know better how the MMD used this defective analysis but the people were resolved to send them packing.

“We therefore advise Chanda to stop telling the nation lies that the PF regime is gaining popularity when the opposite is the truth on the ground. Our true assessment as a party is that the boat’s sinking will be worse than that of the Titanic,” he said.

“If we may ask, who today doesn’t know the amount of bribery by the PF regime in every by-election, including those at local government level? We are alert to the fact that the PF is now capitalising on poverty-stricken citizens by giving money and other handouts in exchange for votes.”

Liswaniso recalled that each time there was a by-election, Zambians witness the PF regime moving in with donations and distributing mealie-meal to hungry citizens through the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU).

“How can you celebrate a victory emanating from vote buying and claim you gaining popularity? The PF media director should come to terms with the fact that in a fair and free election, the PF regime today can struggle to beat even a newcomer in the political arena. We urge Chanda to stop living in denial like he did under the MMD,” Liswaniso said.

He said the UPND equally wonders why Chanda should be very excited about induced defections through bribes to the ruling party as he knows better that even under the MMD era, defections were stage-managed to hoodwink and exaggerate the popularity of the ruling party.

“We can bear testimony as a party that many of our members have been approached before and enticed to resign in exchange for colossal sums of money. But not all fall prey to such machinations and bribery. We are very convinced that Chanda still remembers what he saw during the 2011 general elections where the same people they bribed to defect used the power of their vote to send selfish leaders back to the street. Chanda can’t pretend to have lost memory of this fact,” Liswaniso said.

He further urged Chanda to stop “mocking” Zambians by claiming that the PF has done enough to unite citizens.

“What is Chanda taking Zambians for? Are we going to be blamed for thinking that the media director may not be himself? We say this because the citizens of this country are fully aware that the PF regime has destroyed the unity this country has enjoyed since independence,” he said.

“This country has never been so divided than this time under the PF rule where leaders are on record preaching tribalism and messages of hatred in all political campaigns in order to win votes and remain in power to continue plundering the resources of this country. Is this what Chanda can qualify as uniting the nation?”

Liswaniso said Zambia was founded on the principle of ‘One Zambia, One Nation’, which had unfortunately been destroyed for self-preservation.

He said it was shameful that Chanda could lie to the nation in the most amateurish manner when his party has been preaching divisive messages to Zambians.

“But what can we expect from Chanda? His party thrives on lies and he can’t be any better. We in the UPND are convinced the Zambians will not make a mistake of voting for a regime that has destroyed all systems of good governance. Ba Chanda, you may continue to hallucinate as the decisive 2021 elections gets closer each day,” said Liswaniso.

Jonas Shakafuswa Punches Lungu

0

He writes below….
I personally have no objection to President Edgar Changwa Lungu standing for a third term. If he feels he is the best candidate for PF and capable manager for Zambia, then let him allow the people to decide. ECL heads the executive branch of the Government today which is responsible for law and order in the Country. He is also Head of all Government departments under different Ministries charged with responsibility of providing services and welfare to all the Zambians. He has the Constitution as a guideline for his rule.

The Constitution guides that we are One Zambia One Nation. A Christian Nation. We are a Unitary State with 73 tribes united under one tribe. Zambia. The test of the 2021 won’t be necessarily Infrastructure Development and debt default.

It will be how he has upheld the values enshrined in the Constitution. How does he related to the Constitution giving the people a multiparty State? Has he respected the right of the people to belong to Political Parties of their Choice. Has he allowed Parties to operate and associate freely? Has the people been subjected to the rule of Law. How has he featured on the application of the Law against people’s rights and freedom. How have the people benefited from the vast natural resources the Country is endowed with? How has he related in balancing distribution of wealth to all regions.

How has been the balance of appointments in Government position in relation to One Zambia One Nation? How has he managed violent thuggery behavior of Cadres? For me a confident ECL should level the playing field to make his candidacy plausible. Let him send Kampyongo to go back and issue NRCs to areas in need. Let him ask ECZ to capture all potential voters. There should be no cry of lack of resources as we have seen Senior Government officials giving very huge hand out.

How can Leaders have more money than the State and its people. All these questions are for the campaign. For me I wish my brother good health and Gods guidance as he prepare to convince and not bully the people of Zambia to another 5 years of what we have experienced of his 8 years of rule. Is post 2021 going to be different.

Let us not hide our inefficiency and lack of Leadership ability and sheer failure to campaign to tribe. Tribe has no basis in this campaign. Failures are trying to use fear and hate tribal rhetorics to get sympathy from their tribes. How do these divisive rhetoric relate to One Zambia One Nation? This is what I expect of 2021. Power to the people to choose

First of all, let’s make something abundantly clear. Tayali’s children are utterly ashamed of their father.

I mean let’s be honest. His grown children walk around with their heads bowed down because their Father is a raving lunatic that has no moral compass. He talks about the virtues of family and fatherhood…but he possess none.

A man who has been to court and charged with rape. A man who, by his own admission says, he used to ferry prostitutes from one hotel to another. A man who shot a Live video boasting about his sexual escapades with Ruth at Barn Motel. Are you telling me his Children are proud of that type of behaviour? I seriously doubt it.

A man that shamelessly pretended to be raided by balliffs so that he could gain the public’s sympathy. [ to this day he avoids this topic because he knows what he did ] Tayali defrauded people that felt a sense of empathy towards him. He conned them, laughed and took advantage of their kindness.

He did all of this so that he could pay for his lavish, albeit pretentious wedding ceremony in Abbyssinia [ The Ethiopian Empire ] and yet this is the same Man that calls himself an aspiring Presidential Candidate. Nonsense! Absolute hogwash.

The only difference between Tayali and Shrek is this…Shrek’s love for Fiona on the big screen is real. Tayali’s Facebook marriage is a complete sham. Tsega won’t return to such a reckless irresponsible chap. His existence is a train wreck in slow motion.

You can see every aspect of his disastrous life in vivid detail. The Russian roulette type politics he plays will only disadvantage him and his children. The name Tayali has now become synonymous with words like “conman, crook, Judas, slanderer, accuser of the brethren”… the list is endless.

Lastly, allow me to say, Tayali is too blind to see the folly of his ways. He has a sense of self righteousness that is off-putting, to say the least. He points at the speck in people’s eyes and yet ignores the Tree that is permanently lodged between his crooked glasses and his eyes.
Brace yourself conman…your day of reckoning approaches swiftly.

ECZ OFFICIALS MUST RESIGN…for failing Zambians, that’s what morality calls for – Kambwili

0

CHISHIMBA Kambwili says Electoral Commission of Zambia chairman Esau Chulu, commissioners Ali Simwinga, Emily Sikazwe and others will be foolish not to resign following the failure to capture nine million voters when the registration exercise comes closes this week.

Addressing the media in Lusaka, the National Democratic Congress leader said he has been on record advising the ECZ that it could not register nine million voters in 30 days.

He recalled that when he revealed his concerns during the presidential summit called by the ECZ, former Kitwe town clerk Simwinga dismissed his concerns.

“Simwinga argued in that important summit that they can register nine million voters in 30 days. We are now remaining with 10 days. If in the last 20 days they have only registered 4 million, it goes to say that in the last 10 days they can only do plus, minus two million, which will makes 6 million. There is no way we can allow an election in Zambia to go on with less than the number of people that the census has told us are eligible to vote,” Kambwili said.

He wondered how four million people would make a decision in a country with nearly 20 million citizens.

Kambwili insisted that ECZ has to capture all the nine million eligible voters otherwise there would be problems in terms of elections.

The former labour, sports, and information minister said he was disappointed with Vice-President Inonge Wina who has kept assuring the nation that ECZ would capture nine million voters in 30 days.

“And Electoral Commission of Zambia, Chulu, Nshindano must learn that when you are advised, you don’t have the monopoly of wisdom, you must listen from the voice of wisdom. We have advised them several times and I am even disappointed that the Vice-President keeps on going to Parliament – on Friday through the Vice-President’s Question Time – assuring the nation that ‘we are sure that ECZ will manage the nine million’…insoni Ee buntu, ala tapaba nsoni. All they can do is extend this voter registration to February so that the nine or 10 million people can be captured for us to have a proper representation of Zambians in the electoral process and election. There is absolutely no way that ECZ can register five million voters in the remaining 10 days,” he said.

“And I don’t know what is wrong with us Africans, Zambians in particular. Abasungu they accept defeat. If it was in Europe, they could have already said we are extending but here they keep saying we will assess at the end, but remember in that summit they said ‘we are not going to extend, there is no way we will extend’…twalamimona nomba. That’s why nga wabepa ubufi ufwile ukuleka (if you tell a lie you must stop), you must resign, that’s what morality calls for. So Simwinga, Chulu, ba Emily Sikazwe nabambi mu ECZ tulemilolela after 10 days mukacite resign. Nga tamucitile resign, ninshi mulifiwelewele (and others in ECZ, we are requesting you, after 10 days of the registration exercise, you must resign. If you don’t resign then you are worthless).”

Kambwili said the commissioners should be ashamed enough to resign.

“Remember what happened in England, one minister came late to give his statement in Parliament and by the time he was coming, the question had elapsed, he just stood up and said I am sorry to the British, I am sorry to Parliament and the Speaker and I am tendering my resignation for failing the people. Ebuntu (this is being human), that’s what we should be developing too. Nomba aba twakwata muno (now these we have here), ka allowance kalya kene bakwata ba (that little allowance) Chulu naba Emily kuti baleka (can they resign)? Simwinga, I was in primary school, he was working. Up to now alefwayafye ukulabomba, takwaba abantu bambi abengabomba, eco mulebepela ubufi pantu tamufwaya…(he just wants to be working, are there no others? That’s why you are telling lies),” he said.

And Kambwili said prisoners must not be allowed to vote.

He noted that people have complained about the Constitutional Court following the ruling that prisoners should start voting.

“When you are in prison, you lose certain liberties and surely the liberty to vote. I don’t know how many jurisdictions where prisoners vote. But why bring it in Zambia, where you know that the situation in terms of political democracy is in its infancy then you bring such a thing? Please leave the prisoners alone,” he said.

He reiterated his plea to President Edgar Lungu to pardon more than 10,000 prisoners on Christmas Day to reduce congestion.

“Abantu balala kwati masaka ya mbalala (people sleep like groundnut sacks). Look, there are some people like my brother Keith Mukata, he has been in prison and are doing a very good job with (Mathew) Mohan to try and help the prisoners to have a life after prison…those are people that must be considered for a pardon. I know he might have committed an offence but I think there must be a human face in everything that you do so keeping people in prison like bags of kapenta and bags of mealie-meal being transported from Kapisha to Chiwempala is not right,” Kambwili said.

He urged the government to pardon some prisoners if it was failing to provide adequate space.

Kambwili said to be in prison for just 10 days feels like two years.

“We don’t need to have people in prison for 25 years, those are archaic laws and they must be looked at. I was there for 13 days but it looked like 10 years. It’s punishment enough. They have already been punished. Don’t keep people in prison whom you can’t feed. Ama prisoners nga mwamona ifyo balya..beans iyabulamo cooking oil, iyabulamo tomato, ku iboilafye elo abantu nga wabalolesha balemoneka kwati kuntanshi ekunuma kunsala (if you look at how prisoners are fed, it’s boiled beans without cooking oil and tomato and people are hungry) and you still want to keep them, for what? In December Mr President, do the honourable thing, release…there are about 40,000 prisoners against prison space which is just for about 5,000 the whole Zambia, so it’s terrible. Ubuntu calls that you treat abantu as human beings so I am calling on the President to release as many people so that they can now go and register to vote and vote freely rather than keeping them inside,” said Kambwili./SM

PF worst administration post independence – Kateka

0

I HAVE been concerned about this country from as far as the 1990s through praying and asking pertinent questions of why we are in the space we are in as Zambia, says New Heritage Party president Chishala Kateka.

And Kateka says the PF is the worst of all the regimes the country has had so far.

Kateka, who last week announced her intention to run for office of president, noted that Zambia should be miles ahead of where she is today.

“We have got all the resources and we have the human resource…with the human resource, even if you didn’t have these other resources, we would have ensured that we get far ahead of where we are. There are many countries where they don’t have the resources, the natural resources but they have the human capital and are able to think through and help their nations to get ahead but we have both, Zambia has extremely intelligent people. However, we fail to get into the space that we should be,” Kateka said.

She said with the abundant natural and human resources, Zambia had failed to achieve anything.

Kateka said the problem had to do with the mindset.

“When you think in a certain way, you will behave in a certain way. There are certain mindsets that we have as Zambians, common to us, which prevent us to get ahead. So from 2002 to 2006, four years, I took a Sabbatical from work and I started an NGO called Youth With a Vision for Zambia and I bought a bus and we used to go into provinces. One province we could go for a month and move from place to place speaking to the youths saying guys we have got to take our destiny into our hands. We had identified about 23 mindsets that are common to Zambians and which prevent us from succeeding and those youths that we spoke to did about five provinces and they are now saying this is it,” she said.

Kateka said her spiritual conviction and dedication to the nation had driven her to step into the political arena.

She said when Zambians get to heaven, God would laugh at them having not utilised what He gave them.

Kateka revealed that she was a founder member of the Godfrey Miyanda led Heritage Party but she could not do both politics and work.

She said she was chairperson of the finance committee of the original Heritage Party.

Kateka said contrary to what many think, she had been in politics for a while and learnt a lot from Brig Gen Miyanda, among others.

“He has taught those of us who belonged to that party, he de-registered it…but now the reason that party was formed in the first place was about the Zambian people and when you look at the Zambian people now, I am sure you will agree with me that we are not in such a good place. Therefore, there is a cause which is the Zambian people and we cannot say that cause has been fulfilled,” Kateka said.

She said the New Heritage Party was not riding on the old Heritage gathering manifesto as things have evolved over the years.

“We will be launching our manifesto shortly…one of the things we learnt from the old Heritage Party is that people lift things from your manifesto and before you know it…for example, that statement more money in the pocket came from us, from our manifesto 2001. I can open it and show it to you so if we bring it out, other people will grab it and take it and take the glory,” Kateka said.

“Zambia has got a lot of wealth and God has left that wealth for His children. If you go to Zimbabwe, He has given the Zimbabweans their heritage, so our heritage is our wealth. What we have been having constantly is the fathers of the nation…it’s like a father who gets wealthy and then starts giving that wealth to children of the neighbours, never giving the children of the house their wealth,” Kateka said.

And Kateka said research has shown that a lot of people in Zambia were angry with the PF.

“I think we could have done much better than this (current state of the nation). I think this has to be, am afraid to say, of all the regimes we have had, it has to be the worst that we have had. I am afraid. I am sure it is difficult to run an economy etc but I think that we have been dropped from this to this (High-Low) in a very short time,” Kateka said. “This debt thing is extremely shocking for all of us. I suppose it’s something when we get in we’ll see the difficulties of running government but looking from outside, it’s what we see, that the PF is the worst administration since Zambia became independent, yes in my view.”

Jack Mwiimbu questions Wina’s ‘untrue’ MPs hiding allegation

0

LEADER of opposition in parliament Jack Mwiimbu on Friday questioned Vice-President Inonge Wina’s statement that UPND members of parliament hid at a time the government announced extension of the National Registration Card exercise.

During the Vice-President’s Question Time, Mongu Central UPND member of parliament Mwilola Imakando asked whether the government would consider disciplining registration officers in Mongu who had resorted to closing the office during working hours, leaving many people stranded.

The Vice-President responded that what Imakando was asking about was administrative.

But Nkeyema member of parliament Kapelwa Mbangweta sought to understand whether it was a special case in Western Province where NRC registration offices were being closed.

He said just like in Mongu, the office in Kaoma had been closed since last week.

Mbangweta said the closure of the registration office seemed to be undermining the government’s good intentions.

“I would like to find out what form of assistance your office could render in this regard?” asked Mbangweta.

But Vice-President Wina said a lot of information was disseminated to members of parliament at the beginning of the mobile issuance of NRCs.

She said this was the same time that members of parliament were hiding from Parliament on account of Bill 10.

Vice-President Wina said the members of parliament missed out on a lot of information during the five days of extension of the NRC issuance exercise.

“You will find that the areas that were left out, those were the areas where the permanent secretary in the area was trying to get in touch with his people to inform them about the extension of another week following the complaints during the first phase of the issuance of the NRCs,” said Vice-President Wina. “So Mr Speaker, I cannot really guarantee 100 per cent returning of officers in all the areas that missed out but the Ministry of Home Affairs is still looking into this matter particularly in acquiring resources to undertake this exercise because this is a costly exercise to move teams to the provinces.”

But Mwiimbu rose on a point of order questioning the Vice-President Wina’s allegation that UPND members were hiding during the issuance of NRCs when Bill 10 was on the floor of the House.

“But Mr Speaker, you may recall that the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs issued a statement that he is not going to allow anyone to be involved in support of NRCs apart from his officials, on the floor of this House. Now how can her Honour the Vice-President, when her minister gave a directive that he will not allow any other person to be involved and yet she is now saying that MPs were hiding and yet she knows that there is no evidence that MPs were hiding, we were in the House and that is when we raised these issues? Is she in order to make a statement which is untrue, which is misleading and which should not be entertained by this House; is she in order?”

Speaker Patrick Matibini reserved his ruling.

But Kampyongo rose on a point of order saying he had made several statements in the House and that at no point did he say members of parliament were not to participate in the process of sensitising their members and constituencies on the importance of registering as citizens and getting NRCs.

“Her Honour the Vice-President, I know you have reserved your ruling Mr Speaker, I have further gone to engage my fellow colleagues, MPs, including those from Western Province and it is true when the permanent secretary of Western Province was trying to get hold of the members of parliament from that province, they were avoiding him and avoiding his calls when we extended for five days the exercise of mobile registration. Is the honourable member of parliament for Monze and leader of the opposition in order to mislead this august House through his point of order and indeed mislead the nation when all the statements pertaining to the mobile issuance of NRCs are very clear and I came here even to pronounce extension to the exercise of both phases one and two? I know you have reserved your ruling Mr Speaker but I equally deserve my point of order to be taken into account. I need your serious ruling sir,” said Kampyongo to which the Speaker said he was also reserving ruling and hoped there would be no further point of order on the subject.

But Katombora UPND member of parliament Derrick Livune rose on point of order on Vice-President Wina and Kampyongo who talked about the five-day extension to the NRC issuance exercise.

Livune said it was a known fact that the five-day extension was not backed with funding and no work was done during the period being referred to.

“Are they in order to mislead the nation and deprive the citizens the opportunity to get the NRCs because the five days they were referring to was not backed with funding. I seek your serious ruling,” said Livune and the Speaker said “again I reserve my ruling”. “And let me say this: There will be no further points of order on this subject, no further points of order! Wait for the ruling, simply wait, simply wait.”

Earlier, Dr Matibini noted that the subject was emotive and current but he would not want further points of order.

Lungu Plans An Armageddon! As State House Advances In Plotting Rigging Schemes – Sikaile Sikaile

LUNGU PLANS AN ARMAGEDDON! AS STATE HOUSE ADVANCES IN PLOTTING RIGGING SCHEMES

1.INSTALLATION OF AN IT SYSTEM AT STATE HOUSE

We call on all Zambians to take decisive action on the PF-ECZ criminal pact to annihilate Zambia. Right now in Central,Muchinga,Luapula, Eastern and Northern provinces PF is giving out NRCs and voters cards to kids and also there is a team they call “Special team” which comprises state house Police, intelligence officers and some Government officials to mention a few that is executing this operation. The Electoral Commission of Zambia, Ministry of home affairs and correction services are among the bases of this rigging scheme going on. On Friday, November 04,2020 Ministry of home affairs under the prisons released some big buses to Northern, Luapula, Muchinga and other PF perceived strongholds ferrying these agents who report directly to state house. They have been assigned to register children and put the information in the ECZ database which is backed up at state house. I’m giving state house, ministry of home affairs and the ECZ 24hrs to refute these criminal activities if at all they’re not aware of anything. We are also very much aware of the IT system which was initially installed in Makeni and after one citizen alerted the nation, it was moved to state house where it is housed right now.

The system is a live system and feeds into the ECZ servers. It is being operated by a man called Pieter a South African national. This machine is a replica of ECZ servers and this is the major reason PF insisted on completely new register so that they could have an up to date data base in their system to manipulate the voting in 2021. It is a well laid down plan and their only hope after bill 10 failed. Our sources within state house disclosed during our investigations about these covert ops. Not long ago PF had sent alot of its IT specialist to South Africa for training.

2.ISSUANCE OF NRCS AND VOTERS CARDS TO KIDS IN SELECTED REGIONS

We would like also to inform the country that the inssuance of NRCs and voters cards in PF perceived strongholds has continued whilst halted in other regions. We want to warn the Electoral Commission of Zambia to stop these criminal activities as they’re a threat to our security. Our investigations have clearly outlined that Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu and PF have completely laid down the plans for an Armageddon in Zambia in their mad drive to cling to power. We have repeatedly expressed our concern on the unwarranted armament of the Police. These problems Lungu has created ahead of 2021 are above the opposition strength alone. We all need to participate in our individual capacities in order to stop him.

3. ARMING OF PF CADRES

We would like to once again bring it to the attention of the Zambian people that the Patriotic Front government under president Edgar Chagwa Lungu have also continued arming and cladding their cadres in military uniforms for the day of ARMAGEDDON. Not a single security wings has spoken against this polarization. We have repeatedly pointed out the consequences of arming cadres with guns, but Lungu doesn’t want to listen. Who in their normal senses would permit the procurement of a multi billion anti-riot arsenal in the midst of crumbling Economy without an imminent domestic threat. An analysis of the desperation on the part of Edgar Chagwa Lungu and PF clearly shows that they intend to plunge the nation in a blood pool for their survival.

4.THE PF FUNDING TERRORISM

Their terrorist disposition is very clear for all to see. We are all preview to the fact that Mr. Lungu has been cited as a Terrorist sponsor in a foreign country, and he has never refuted the allegations. To this day, this matter remains as such. We have a President willing to shed innocent blood for personal reasons. Within our own land, no criminal can beat Lungu in cold blood killings of innocent defenseless civilians through his agents (thugs). Lungu has sponsored domestic terrorism and has granted presidential immunity to public criminals. This evidence is in the public domain. Since 2016, alot of lives have been lost due to Lungu’s mad drive to secure his Presidency. Earlier this year in March we took a bold decision to write to Mr Edgar Lungu demanding for justice over state sponsored killing of civilians but todate ,the letter was received and he decided to keep quiet because we have all the evidence to prove our demands. We all remember how many lives were lost through gassing, University of Zambia students peaceful protests, PF instigated by-elections, trigger happy police shootings etc. Why is Lungu doing all this?

5. HH AS A TARGET

Various sources during our investigations have disclosed that the opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema is the target in this rigging scheme. Why does Lungu hate HH? Lungu hates HH because of his management and Economic acumen and business accomplishment. This is why we find him in a mad drive to catch up with HH.Within ten months of holding office he catapulted his networthy by close to 1000%. How could he manage to amass this fortune for himself in a very short time but failed to do the same for our country? A man who was on the verge of bankruptcy! Edgar Chagwa Lungu hates HH for no other reason than his exceptional managerial skills. Edgar’CHAGWA LUNGU is a thief and this record is public. This is how he managed to accumulate so much wealth in less than a year of holding office when his legal earnings are not commensurate to his worthy. He knows that once HH comes into power, his full criminality will come to light. He knows that the Zambians will hold him to account for murder and grand embezzlement. He and his ministers have paralysed the Economy due to Corruption and political repression.

6.RAMPANT CORRUPTION

The Auditor General’s report and the Financial Intelligence Centre have confirmed the existence of grand Corruption in PF. Edgar Lungu and his PF knows why Zambia is in commatose. They full well know what happened for Zambia to fail to pay it’s interest remittances on it’s debt. They know how many loans they illegally contracted on behalf of the Zambian people but ended up in their pockets. They are now procuring guns to use against hungry civilians. This is the reason they had to procure the apartheid era riot armory in a country without a domestic security threat. They intend to crush anyone who opposes their failure and stand in their way to power. In a country without simple surgical gloves in hospitals, pain killers, were hospitals like UTH are breeding houses for rats, its shocking to see those in leadership buying guns instead of improving our health, education and agriculture sector. They know that once people get to know how much they have stolen, people will take to the streets and hound them out. They would like to remain in power forever so that they can keep their Corruption under cover.

This is why they are trying by all means to block the opposition from exposing their embezzlement to the public. They are misapplying the Public Order Act to muzzle the opposition. The reason they bought the anti riot arsenal is to create terror in the citizens and cow them into voting apathy and then inflate figures of those kids they’re registering now. The fewer the people that vote, the better the chances for them to rig through their state house data base.Very soon, they will commence their public terror through psychological conditioning by driving around populated cities in full riot kits to instill fear in the citizens. Ultimately, they intend to storm and indiscriminately kill opposition supporters to instill fear in the public. They have been provocating the opposition to create a pretext for cold blood killing. Think of how they have destroyed opposition vehicles in full view of the police? Think of how they have accused unarmed Opposition leaders of abducting heavily armed policeman with commercial military grade weaponry. We shall soon see them triggering mass civilian killings to create anarchy in the country. They know that they can’t win an election under the circumstances. They have no message for the people apart from rigging and violence. Our sources within state house and intelligence have further disclosed that tribalism apparently seem to be a non starter for them, that’s why they have intestified on registering kids whom they will not need to physically vote but their details. The source has warned that all concerned Zambians need to be alert especially in these earmarked regions. The source has also appealed through us that the international community and the local stakeholders like the church, civil society grouping should come in quickly or the country will be gone soon.

7. DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY

The option is to create an Armageddon. Once this is done, they will declare a state of emergency and suspend elections, indiscriminately arrest Opposition sympathizers with HH being their target.EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU is following the footsteps of his role model and mentor Yoweri Kaguta Museni of Uganda. Just like his mentor, he has no message apart from turning his blind police on the civilians. As citizens of this country we all have to take a responsibility in defending our nation by being alert and demanding for transparency in the preparations of 2021 elections.

8.OLD REGISTER

We would like to appeal to all Zambians to demand that the Electoral Commission of Zambia maintain the old register. ECZ has been captured. State house is running and directing ECZ on what to do and as long as we allow the current ECZ executive to run 2021 elections, we should forget about a free and fair election. We also want to bring to the attention of the public right now that state house is far much ahead in compiling these ghost voters mainly from PF perceived strongholds. We therefore want to alert concerned stakeholders to demand for a thorough auditing of the new register to get rid of these kids and some foreigners being registered.

Why Rush To Register Inmates At The Expense Of Majority Zambians?

0

PRESS STATEMENT
6 TH DECEMBER 2020
WHY RUSH TO REGISTER INMATES AT THE EXPENSE OF MAJORITY ZAMBIANS?
We find the behavior of ECZ totally unacceptable for abandoning majority Zambian voters and rush to register inmates across the Country. ECZ needs to provide acceptable guidelines first before registration of inmates.

ECZ should have by now provided clear guidelines on how the opposition will campaign in these correctional facilities. Why the rush to register inmates before you complete registering your targeted 9 million voters? All what you have achieved is to create confusion by conducting a very chaotic voter registration in the history of this Country. Prosperity will judge you harshly. You are forcing Zambians to be very suspicious of your motive behind this rush.

Deliberately you have been frustrating Zambians not to register in huge numbers. You have employed tactics that are known in Industrial Relations as work to rule. Work to rule wherever it has been applied has produced disastrous results just like in your case. We are left with no option but to speculate that you are rushing to capture inmate votes because they will benefit PF. Voluntarily you promised Zambians that you will capture 9 million voters. From what you have done so far can you stand by your word that by 12th December you will capture 9 million voters?

You started by deploying one person to handle the whole process of issuing a voters card. Why didn’t you conduct a trial exercise to see how long it would take one person to issue a voter’s card before you rolled out the whole exercise? It seems your idea was to disfranchise as many people as possible. You hurriedly rolled out the program until people complained about the slow process which you could have eliminated had you been sincere enough. Even publicity has been a problem to you. In a normal society you could all have resigned on your own, but under PF this is very normal.

Voting is a right and therefore don’t expect Zambians to be begging you to extend the registration period. Don’t subject Zambians to unnecessary problems. PF has created too many problems for the Zambian people, enough is enough? No amount of intimidation and frustration whether deliberate or not will save PF from an embarrassing defeat.

I WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED WITH TB AND I LATER DISCOVERED I WAS HIV POSITIVE
23- year-old Zambian lady bravely voices out on her HIV status.
“The best cure is self love, not self pity,” says Luyando Tasila Sikanwe.
Luyando is HIV positive and wants to give hope to society. During an interview with Girl Empowerment Alliance for Change, she narrates: “I was first diagnosed with TB in August 2014, within the same year in September, I underwent HIV testing which came out positive.

I cried, I was out of myself and by then, I was in grade ten (10). My educational life became totally messed up, I was always confused in class thinking how am I going to handle my situation and to make it worse, I was young such that I asked myself: where did it come from and how? I kept on asking myself because by then, I did not involve myself in any intercourse, I hated my life, i once tried to kill myself because I couldn’t accept the fact that I am positive; I thought it’s the end of everything.

I kept on asking myself this question: how will I live and face my own children one day? Life was so hard on me, even though my mum kept on showing the support to me, it was just nothing upto 2015 July; that is when I had accepted my status and thank God in all, not forgetting, I collect my medication at Optic Hospital in Northmead, Lusaka. My smiles came back and now I am living a free happy life.

I completed my secondary education and University education. I am still looking forward to more and to me, no matter what one may say, I will never be ashamed of my status disclosure.

HIV is not the end of everything, you can still make it in life and be you. To those who are still living, walking with the stigma, you are free to follow me up Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, I am using Luyando Sikanwe. PAUL MOONGA FIRED FOR FAILING TO PUSH LUNGU’S AGENDA…as victory for the President in Lusaka province looks uncertain

0

By Daily Revelation reporter
Patriotic Front (PF) Lusaka province chairperson Paul Moonga has been fired for failing to push President Edgar Lungu’s agenda of ensuring certainty of the President’s victory in Lusaka province ahead of next year’s elections.

Impeccable sources at the PF secretariat and members of the central committee both confirmed to Daily Revelation that a decision was reached to fire Moonga following all indications that President Lungu is most likely going to lose Lusaka Province next year, unless something drastic is done.

“Things are looking dire in Lusaka and all indications point to President Lungu and PF loss, that’s why you have seen the focus on rural areas. In rural areas maybe we may win, but it’s not looking good in urban areas, especially Lusaka,” sources said.

Sources said Moonga was viewed to have lamentably failed to mobilise support in Lusaka province in order to guarantee the President’s outright victory.

They said PF secretary general Davies Mwila fired Moonga with full consent, approval, and directive from President Lungu.

“The first reason why Paul Moonga has been fired is because the political environment in Lusaka is not looking favourable for the President. All indications are pointing to the fact that the President is going to lose Lusaka Province (in next year’s tripartite elections), and Paul Moonga has been viewed as a liability because he has not been forceful on the ground campaigning for the President and the party,” sources explained.

They added that Moonga’s alcoholic behaviour had reached unacceptable levels, with most party members complaining about him.
“And also, you know that there have been complaints from the general membership that he is usually drunk; he attends meetings drunk and is most often drunk; and as a result, he has not been effective to discharge the functions assigned to him,” they disclosed. “The other issue is that there have been allegations against him regarding the distribution of lands in Lusaka. So, that is one of the issues that raised a lot of alarm bells within the party (structures). There have also been allegations especially from young women, sure you know what that means.”

Moonga is also accused of having failed to support President Lungu’s agenda aimed at discouraging serving ministers and members of parliament from re-contesting their seats next year. Sources revealed that the President has made a directive that most incumbent ministers and members of parliament must pave way for new faces to contest on various positions including parliamentary seats – a directive Moonga has failed to execute.
“In addition, you know, there is this smearing struggle in the Patriotic Front…that the President does not want most of the serving MPs and ministers to re-contest their positions.

Now, what has happened is that there are divisions in the PF as most of these (serving) ministers and members of parliaments, much as they oppose to the President’s directive, they are scared of coming out in the open for fear of losing their positions now…because they might be fired,” sources revealed. “So, what they (serving ministers and MPs want to do is to ambush the President at the party convention where they are going to declare opposition to the stance the president has taken. Now, Moonga was viewed as not being too forceful in pushing the President’s agenda regarding this matter where, he wants, like in Lusaka, for instance, new faces to contest parliamentary positions. So, in a nutshell, these are some of the things that have led to the firing of Paul Moonga from his position. He has been fired by the SG of the party, but with consent, approval, and directive from the President.”
Efforts to contact Moonga failed as his phone went unanswered.

Use voter’s card to choose between ‘Barnabas and Jesus’ – Akafumba

0

BAD people are voted into government by good people who don’t register as voters or those who stay away from voting, says National Democratic Congress vice-president Josephs Akafumba.

And Akafumba has described the voter’s card as ‘disposable.’

In an interview after he registered as a voter at Twin Palm Secondary School in Lusaka, Akafumba said all Zambians must advise their neighbours and relatives to likewise register as voters.

“It is very important that we get rid of this PF bad system. People must remember that bad governments are voted in by good people who stay away from registering as voters and those who have registered staying away from voting. If you don’t register as a voter or stay away from voting, the bad people like those in PF will decide your future,” he said. “The positive part is that we shall use the ‘disposable’ voter’s card on 12th August 2021 to separate the good from the bad. We shall use this card to choose between Barnabas and Jesus. On that day we shall hear the good people of Zambia shout: ‘give us Jesus’ and we shall be set free at last.”

Akafumba said that whoever designed the voter registration exercise and card is an evil person.

“I managed to register as a voter at Twin Palm Secondary School after so many failed attempts and my persistent refusal to jump the queue of the evidently very upset people who have been on these queues for a long time. I fail to appreciate and understand the PF and their ECZ for designing a system that inflicts pain and agony on anyone who wants to register as voters. One has to endure rain or go in the night just to get a voter’s card which is a constitutional right. Whoever planned the system is an evil person who does not mean well for Zambia,” he said. “Apart from the pain of registering I also realised that the card is made out of ordinary A4 paper which is laminated with a plastic with an expiring date of 2030. This card is a greatest joke of the PF and ECZ. They have subjected us to getting a disposable card. That is what it is, disposable.”

Akafumba warned Zambians against putting the card in their wallets or exposing it to the elements that may cause it to fade before next August.

“Leave it at home away from water or sunlight and use it to restore law and order in 2021. Let’s us all shout in August next year that; ba PF mwailasha,” said Akafumba.

National Democratic Congress clarifies Kambwili’s statement

0

By Saboi Imboela Spokesperson- NDC

The National Democratic Congress, NDC, is shocked with continued statements from the PF over a statement made by our NDC president Dr. Chishimba Kambwili.

Last week, Dr. Kambwili shared how disappointed he was with Zambians keeping quiet in the midst of human rights abuse and harassment of citizens. Dr. Kambwili shared how he expected people to stand up for their country and not let politicians be the only ones to speak and stand up in defence of Zambia’s democratization process.

To our shock, the PF have twisted the statement to mean that our president regrets the way he has been providing checks and balances to the PF. There is nothing wrong with the way our president provides checks and balances, and to twist that statement to make it sound like his kind of politics are not good is a serious case of desperation on the part of the PF.
Our president is one of the strongest voices for Zambians in the country and he will continue to provide the required checks and balances.

Politicians have their role to play, just as much as citizens have their role to play in our country’s good governance. The call by our president to remind people to play their role of good citizenship does not in any way mean that he regrets or is giving up on opposition politics which require him to be a voice of the voiceless.

One of the tenets of good governance is that of participation. Participation requires that all citizens get involved in issues that affect them. Voting alone is not enough because citizens have to continuously ensure that their elected representatives govern in an acceptable and prudent manner.

It is also said that Democracy is not a Spectator’s sport. This simply means that, citizens are not spectators but active players in their democracy or democratisation process of their country, as the case is in Zambia now.

The above message of citizen participation is what our president was emphasising on and the PF desperation to make that statement be about them and their president is a serious act of desperation. Why would our president regret having brought out some of the serious cases of corruption that this country has ever seen?

We urge the PF to concentrate on real issues affecting the country than to keep twisting statements from various political players.

‘I can never give up on Zambians. We have a big task ahead of us. We may sometimes feel weary as leaders, but the task we have at hand is not anything that I or we as NDC can give up along the way. We need to liberate this country and it takes concerted efforts to do so. For my part as president of NDC, I can never give up on the mission to liberate Zambia,’ president Kambwili said.

Zambia and more African countries are relying on an Israeli surveillance tool to snoop on private citizens

“You can’t hear me? Don’t worry, we can you.”

As African governments crack down on protestors and opposition leaders in countries such as Nigeria and Uganda, it is emerging that state security agencies in seven regional countries are among 25 around the world using an Israeli surveillance platform to snoop on private communications of citizens.

A new report names Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, and Zambia as the African countries that have been employing Circles’ surveillance platforms to exploit flaws in telecoms systems and to access telephone calls, SMS messages and location services.

The report by the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab titled Running in Circles: Uncovering the Clients of Cyberespionage Firm Circles offers new perspectives detailing how the telecom surveillance company, Circles has deployed its platforms across Africa, helping state security departments to snoop on communications of opposition politicians, journalists, and protestors.

It’s worth noting Circles is said to be affiliated with Tel Aviv-based NSO Group, which became globally known last year for the Pegasus spyware scandal after it was reported to have been used to exploit a vulnerability in the popular WhatsApp app to spy opposition organizers in several countries.

One such example is Botswana, where Citizen Lab has detailed how the Directorate for Intelligence and Security’s domain was used to identify two snooping systems linked to Circles platforms. This was undertaken through cryptographic TLS certificates signed under “CN=sid.org.bw” which is a domain name linked to the country’s state security and defense department. The targets for this surveillance seemed to have been media houses, journalists, and their sources in cases involving corruption by politicians.

The outbreak of EndSARS protests in Nigeria, where young citizens demonstrated peacefully against the heavy-handed and violent nature of the now-disbanded SARS police unit, triggered a deadly state security crackdown on protestors features followed by various attempts by the government to infiltrate and undermine protest organizers. This is not new, Front Line Defenders had already concluded in a 2018 report that that the Nigerian government “has conducted mass surveillance of citizens’ telecommunications.”

But it’s not just the countries facing protests that are resorting to surveillance of private communications of citizens. In Zambia, for example, there is a entire cyber-surveillance unit in the office of the country’s telecommunications regulator. As in Uganda more recently, Zambia and several other African countries have relied on a mix of Chinese-bought facial recognition and digital surveillance tools from companies including Huawei and Cloudwalk.

As internet penetration and smartphone usage increases with young Africans, social media has become more influential for organizing civil society and opposition movements across Africa. This has led to several governments shutting down the internet or blocking social media apps especially around elections and protests. But given the economic cost of shutdowns and widespread criticism, covert surveillance of digital footprints may now be seen as a more effective option.

Hiding behind code names or completely operating behind anonymous domains is an emerging trend for African state departments undertaking covert surveillance of private citizens as there was an unidentified client using Circles’ platform in Zimbabwe, in addition to another client going by the code name “Zagato Zeus”. Another client, Zimbabwe Telcel has also been identified as having relied on Circles’ platform for surveillance of private telecommunications in the southern African country.

Equatorial Guinea, which has previously shut down the internet, also had an anonymous client using surveillance systems while Telco Kali Rainbow was identified as being behind usage of a surveillance system geo-located to Mauritius but traced back to IP addresses in Kenya.

As surveillance of private citizens’ communications increases across Africa, there are fresh worries that telecom companies are not yet adequately geared to deal with this trend.
“Abuse of the global telephone system for tracking and monitoring is believed to be widespread, however it is difficult to investigate,” notes Citizen Lab in its report. “Meanwhile, cellular carriers have many technical difficulties identifying and blocking abuses of their infrastructure.”

Fred M’membe: Does socialism encourage laziness?

Does socialism encourage laziness?
Hello Comrade, when you have a chance, kindly reflect on the common assumption that socialism encourages laziness.

Great thanks Comrade and here is my brief reflection on the assumption:
The laziness trope is often used as a way to kind of discredit socialism overall. However, there’s some truth to this. In the experience in the Soviet Union and Cuba and Eastern Europe, there was a point in the development of socialism where workers were less motivated than certainly everyone that imagined what socialism would be thought would happen.

Now, before getting into that, let’s look at, first of all, the increase in productivity and the growth of the economy, industrialisation in the Soviet Union during the 1920s on was astounding. The fact that this semi-feudal country industrialised so quickly that it actually could fend off this highly developed industrial power of Nazi Germany, and eventually win that war, the extent to how hard people worked and how much they sacrificed to be into that position, you can’t call that laziness. Let’s not forget the Soviet Union got to space before the United States. In a very short amount of time after World War II, the Soviet Union built a nuclear weapon to counteract the nuclear threat of the United States, and the extent to which it was an offensive threat to the United States and that the Soviet Union was in a defensive position.

When people have a guaranteed job and you can never get fired, when people have a guaranteed standard of living, they have healthcare, they have schooling, there’s no fear of poverty, which is more or less what there was in the Soviet Union, people get lazy. And if there’s no competition, like if everyone gets paid the same no matter how hard you work, then why work hard?

The Soviet Union was incredibly innovative. Some of the most amazing inventions came out of the Soviet Union, including, if you go back to the beginning, the Soviet Union gives birth to modern filmmaking and so on, and all kinds of developments in the sciences.
So if you look at the stages of the Soviet Union, for a long time, it was very productive, as you see, what I said about taking on Germany and getting to space and so on. And then also, in certain sectors of the economy, it remained very productive, especially the sciences. The Soviet Union was able to compete with the United States in the development of technology.

But on this one specific thing – and it’s a complicated subject, we can’t get into it all now – but there was something that developed in the Soviet Union, and it happened in Cuba, and to some extent in Eastern Europe. When you got to the level of the factory floor and much of the working class, kind of everyone got paid the same. And it kind of didn’t matter if you worked hard or didn’t work hard, and there was a lot of resentment. Workers that did work hard, were motivated, were definitely pissed that this person over there was having a cigarette half the day and nothing happens. And then it was difficult to fire somebody and even discipline them, because ideologically, this was supposed to be a worker’s state and all the rest. And one of the reasons that is because the bureaucrats, especially, to maintain their own positions of power, didn’t want to piss off sections of the working class. And a lot of them believed in this theory too, that you pay everyone the same because that’s the socialist ideal. Except it’s not. There’s absolutely no reason under socialism why everyone should get paid the same. And in fact, they didn’t. In the Soviet Union, the artists got paid more, filmmakers got paid more, the party leaderships got paid more. It’s not like everyone got paid the same, it was mostly in the working class you didn’t have hardly any variance. But there’s no reason why that needs to be.
If we go back to what Karl Marx said, socialism is not the same – and there’s so much misconception of what communism is because of the Cold War and all the rest. But if you take what Marx and Engels thought communism was, communism is when the state withers away and isn’t there anymore because there’s no classes anymore, because the whole point of the state is to be coercive.

And if you don’t have distinctions in classes, you don’t need cops, you don’t need armies. So communism is this ideal kind of utopia. Who knows if human society ever gets there, but that’s the theory. It got all demonized because they called the Soviet Union communism because the Soviet Union sometimes called themselves that, but it wasn’t.
So under communism, the tagline is, “From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.” Because this ideal state, where there’s no classes, everyone is highly motivated, but not everyone is equal in ability. Some people run fast, some people run slow, some people are smarter, some people can do this and that. So everyone gives what they have to give, but everyone gets what they need. That’s this utopian state of communism, and that was the ideal. But socialism, the slogan was, the tagline from Marx was,

“From each according to their ability, to each according to their work.” You don’t work, you don’t get. So that was not what was followed. This idea of having the same wage did demotivate people.

In Cuba people became so educated, they didn’t want to do agricultural work. They didn’t want to go work in the fields because people were learning sciences and medicine. And in those areas, Cuba excelled. They have a pharmaceutical industry in Cuba that competes at a world level. Though when it came to when you have such an educated population, a lot of people didn’t want to do that kind of work.

But it also was the same thing, with everyone kind of getting paid the same, and they were resentful about that. People said, ‘Well, why should I work hard when they don’t?’ But there’s no reason for that. This isn’t something inherent in socialism. You can have competition between workers, you can pay people more for more productivity. This is not a state where you get what you need, it’s an economy where you get how you work.
Moreover, even capitalist countries somehow faced some similar challenges when it came to social security. There are some people who were satisfied just sitting at home drinking, producing children and collecting social security for each child and didn’t want to work. It seems, regardless of the social and economic system, this is the side effect of providing social security beyond a certain optimal level.

Socialism is not promoting laziness, it does not say that you can live off other people’s work while sitting at home collecting welfare. You will not get paid if you do not work. People will say that socialism is just giving someone money that they didn’t earn. This is wrong, you still have to work.

So it’s a complicated, long story. Well, comrades, for now we’re going to have to leave it here.

“I BLAMED THE TONGA INFLUENCE FOR MY ORDEAL!”

By CIC Investigations and Research.
LUAPULA PEOPLE DON’T JUST GROW.
(Research Version a real life story by Chate Mbolela)
“I BLAMED THE TONGA INFLUENCE FOR MY ORDEAL!”
After being fished out of the bush I had been holed up for over six hours. As l lay on my hospital bed my mind started running through the whole episode. The male nurse had just finished suturing the two open wounds on my head and advised me to rest. The more l tried to sleep the more my mind got congested with the ‘WHY ME’ question. It was past mid night of 21 April 2011.

I kept wondering why it had to me. Why should the people of Mansa that l had so much in common with go to the extent of almost killing me when all that l was trying to demonstrate to society was that we can all achieve what we put our minds to through hard work. My hot pants were soaked as it was a rainy night. No shirt,no shoes, no spectacles and above all very hungry and very thirsty.

I started to ponder over the safety if my family. Was my mum safe at her place?I started lamenting and cursing myself what made me decide to stay home in Mansa among people who don’t appreciate hard work and progress. A society that has decided to criminalise hard work. After a deep reflection, l blamed the Tonga influence for my predicament. Clash of culture. lt has backfired lamentably.

I’m MBOLELA CHATE ,born and bred in Mansa. Went to Mutende Primary School then St.Clements Sec School. On 2 Dec 1987 l enrolled as a fresher at UNZA School of Natural Science to study Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
I delayed to graduate because of family commitments.
Whilst at UNZA I developed a lot of interest in doing business.
l realised lately that l was in the wrong school. l should have enrolled in the sch of humanities to study economics or school of business at CBU. l remember at one time l told a lie to my School Dean Prof. D.Theo that l had lost my dad so l asked for leave from school.

l told a lie because l wanted a bit of time on my business. Up to this day I feel very guilty for the lie l told.
University is a cosmopolitan society.
You interact with people with different backgrounds. lt was at UNZA that l came to learn about the Tonga culture;get highly educated first then use the book knowledge acquired to promote your investment.

The time l was graduating we had ventured into poultry farming.
After school was done l sat down with my parents and told them l would want to venture into the unknown and uncertainties. I told them that l would not seek employment but instead l would seek deployment. Whilst deployment comes after one retires for me l was retiring myself soon after school. l explained to them that l wanted to emulate the Tonga culture; get educated first then challenge the world.

Surprisingly my parents gave me a green light and with their blessings l set out to challenge the world.
The role distance l took that time was very alien to Luapula and was seen to be highly irrational. With University education one decides to be on the street. But l was resolved and determined to prove a point.

After l lost my dad in 2006 l was derailed a bit. Dad was my pillar in the day today management of business. Dad died when l had just enrolled once more at UNZA, school of humanities to study economics and development studies by distance. By the time dad was passing on, l had taken over decision making in business.

I remember watching on ZNBC late Dr L.Mwanawasa on his farm and then his mother on her farm as well. From what l saw l got challenged. I constructed some chickens runs at mum’s(now late) place for her to manage whilst l run the bigger part.
We diversified into piggery, fish farming and banana production. In no time we were leaders in all these portfolios in the province.

In 2009 we had first riots in Mansa. People looted goods from Amico shops accusing him of involvement in ritual murders. Amico is the biggest Investor in Mansa. Sensing danger of what was brooding in Mansa l wrote the civic leader, the Mayor of Mansa with a copy to the police Provincial Commanding Officer Mr A.Mbewe to engage the community and explain to them the importance of having investors in society in relation to job creation. As usual my letter was thrown in the dust bin.

On 19 April 2011 there was false alarm of abduction and a riot broke out. Amico shop was once more looted.

On 21 April 2011 at about 16:00hrs l took animal feed to my farm. Shortly after a boy came calling and warning that a vicious mob was descending on my farm to loot. And that should they find me l will be a dead meat. l refused to be a coward. l vowed to stay on and meet the confrontation. Another lady came and brought the same warning. She begged me to leave the farm. At that point l called the police for protection. They told me they were overwhelmed. No option l drove off leaving my investment of many years to go up in flames.

As l was driving home l came across a barricade made by another mob at a village called Sunday. When l came out of my vehicle hell broke loose. Twice l was hit at the back of my head and twice l fell to the ground. ln no time l had no shirt, no shoes,no money on me and no phone. Twice I was hit with a bottle in the head. The previous day they had burnt someone to death so there intention was to put me down and burn me as well. Every time they floored me l would quickly get up the pain was getting too much for me to bear.
When l told them it would be useless for me to go to sch spend so much time on the table only to retire into engaging in ritual murders.
l realised l was dealing with illiterates who never appreciated school let alone meritocracy.
“we re bearing children only for you to kill.” they lamented.
With no shoes,no shirt bleeding all over my body l was being paraded as a ritual murderer in the village.
MBOLELA CHATE the intellectual, the footballer, the football coach (coached Emmanuel Mbola, and Hon Bowman Lusambo),the team sponsor (Chicken Warriors F.C) and above all the CEO had been reduced to a commoner. Walking bear feet.
Then two men came and felt for me. They feared that there was a big mob on the way coming to finish me off. So they grabbed me by the hand and we disappeared into the bush.
We run for about thirty minutes .When l looked back l saw some smoke l realised my vehicle had been set ablaze. I knew after that they will come for me. We increased the pace at which we were running.

We had done about two kilometers thinking we were out of danger so we decided to start walking. Suddenly we heard some strange noise. The two men who had accompanied me on the journey fled leaving me to battle for my life. I couldn’t fight l was in pain and grossly fatigued. The four boys got me by my pants and started drugging into the field of cassava. One boy whilst he was pulling me started to give instructions to his friend to go back and inform the mob coming behind that l had been burnt to ashes.
The boys hide me in the cassava plantation and went to call their father who had given instruction to rescue me if they found me alive.

When their father came he made calls to my young brothers who in turn contacted the police. The police had no vehicle so Mr Kasongo then Prov.Manager for ACC came with 8 armed police officers. l was rescued about 23:30hrs.
l was soaked, very much in pain and cud not walk.l was put on a bicycle to get out of the bush to the vehicle. I was driven straight to the hospital.
The next day l was discharged. l was told mum for her safety spent a night at a guest house, My family spent a night at our neighbor’s place.
At the farm chickens and pigs were looted.

When l went to the police station to give a formal statement l met Mr A.Mbewe the former Commanding Officer for Luapula who by then had been transferred to Lusaka to head CID at national level. l reminded him that some one had sometime back written a letter to him warning about what had happened today. He told me yes he remembered. I told him it was me the victim of what l had feared would happen to the business community.
After meeting mum, l went home to reunite with my family. When l looked at my two kids innocently playing l felt for them. Today they would have been wearing a new tag of orphans. All this because their dad supplanted a Tonga Phenomenon alien to Luapula and it has burnt his fingers. Clash of cultures.

But when l look back to reflect at what happened yester~year l feel it was not in vain because many more graduate students in Mansa are staying home and venturing into the world using me as a role model.

Members of the Red family l have told this story not that l desire sympathy from you. It is out of urgency of the time. My prayer and wish is u could adopt my predicament as yours and set out to do something about it.

I was attacked when poverty in Luapula was at 65% and parents would afford to send children to school. Today poverty is at 81% in Luapula meaning a lot of our children will be out of school. This will imply more illiteracy in Luapula and revolution of ignorant understanding.

Luapula because of poverty has been earmarked by PF for all sorts of rigging. Bicycles being sent to Chienge to take advantage of people’s ignorance to manipulate them. Let’s fight this.

If at all we allow PF to bounce back to power using Luapula when we are well aware of their plans and tactics then all of us will be guilty of letting down our next generation. Every generation works for and on behalf of the next generation. What happened to me l fear should not happen to another person. It is still traumatising. Together we can fight illiteracy.

I’m in touch with the people in Nchelenge and Chienge .They are battle ready to mobilise but the only constraint are finances.

While Hon Lusambo parades himself as bootlicker number one for ECL, l too l’m not ashamed to parade myself as beggar number one for UPND Luapula.
So brethren if you have faith in HH like l do, if you have hope in HH of changing the way things are being run in our country as l do then let’s put our hands together and ensure we escort him to State House come September 2021.

I know the journey we started together maybe long and costly. The slope of frustration may be steep and we are likely to face false starts but please don’t leave Luapula behind. Hold weakingly Luapula by the hand and race together to the finishing line.

Members of the Red family we all serve the UPND so if we can’t fly let us run,if we can’t run let’s walk ,if we can’t walk let’s crawl,if we cannot crawl let’s keep moving for HH and the future generation.
Regards.

No court in Zambia can stop Lungu from contesting 2021 poll – Banda

0

JOSEPH Banda says there is no court in Zambia which can stop President Edgar Lungu from contesting next year.

In an interview in Sinda after he was attacked in Petauke on Tuesday evening, Banda, a resident of Lusangazi district, said it was nonsense to talk about President Lungu’s eligibility because he has only served one term and not two terms.

Banda, who aspires to contest as member of parliament on the ruling PF ticket in Msanzala, advised people who talk about third term to forget about it saying it does not apply to President Lungu.

“The issue of third term is not there. We should forget the issue of third term as there is nothing like third term. We don’t have any candidate as a party – we have one candidate that is President Edgar Lungu. The third term nonsense people should just forget it,” he sarcastically retorted. “There is no court in Zambia which can declare Edgar Lungu not to stand, okay! He has not done two terms. He has done one term because from 2015-2016, he was finishing the Term for the late president Michael Sata. He first became the President as far as we are concerned in 2016. It’s simple mathematics. We are not even worried, even the courts themselves know. This issue of eligibility people are talking about it’s nonsense. They should stop it. We have no leadership crisis in the nation, Edgar Lungu is standing.”

The Republican Constitution prohibits any individual who has held office of President twice going for a third time. President Lungu was first sworn and held office of President in 2015 and in 2016.

And Banda claimed that President Lungu had taken development to every part of the country.

“All these boys who are talking of eligibility, let them form their own political parties and we will meet them in the battle field,” he said.

He added that anyone who would be chosen by people, either Lungu or Hakainde Hichilema would rule as per laws of Zambia.

Banda said the PF were very much confident that President Lungu would win next year’s presidential election.

About the event where unknown people attacked him at Magwillys Lodge in Petauke, Banda wondered how he could be attacked when everyone knew he was a PF member.

“I am surprised why someone can come and attack me when I am a full member of PF and people are fully aware that I am campaigning for President Edgar Lungu. President Edgar Lungu got a lot of votes in 2016 not because of Peter Daka but because of me. Peter Daka never campaigned for the President, he was just sleeping,” he said. “We pushed for the win of the President. The President got about 20,000 votes in Msanzala and Peter Daka got about 7,000. Why should an MP get 7,000 votes and President gets more votes?”

He said 2021 was a hot year politically and that only the mature in mind would stand the heat.

Banda promised never to give up the race no matter how many times people attack him politically.

“When you are a leader, you should be of service to the people. I not giving up. I lost an election in 2016 to Peter Daka, I was a baby then but now I have grown. I am not giving up, I am not going backwards but pushing forward,” he said.

Banda, who sustained a cut on his finger during the fracas, urged his enemies not to fight him physically but politically by taking development to the people.

He said the unknown youths entered the lodge and started insulting him, branding him a Satanist who was using blood money to develop Lusangazi.

A fight ensued between Banda’s boys and the attackers who had a pistol, screw drivers and knives.

When he went to stop the fight, an unknown individual knifed him in the finger.

Chikowa ward aspirant Funwell Tembo sustained a cut on the right hand.

Banda said after overpowering about 10 youths, he and his team went to Sinda where they reported the attack on them.

LUNGU JUST WITHDRAW…be satisfied, go your significant wealth – Milupi

0

A THIRD term is a third term, period, charges Charles Milupi.

He asks PF and President Edgar Lungu introspect and see if there has been a positive influence on the long match to development in this country. “Have you really moved the country forward? They have not! Let them be satisfied with what they have done, the wealth they have accumulated,” he said. “Let them now withdraw and go and enjoy whatever wealth which they have, which we know is very significant.”

Milupi is the president of the opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD).

He is a former Luena member of parliament.

Milupi cautions that the likelihood of the PF not having a presidential candidate next year is very high.

Edgar Lungu won the Republican presidency in January 2015 and retained it in August 2016.

Article 106 (3) of the Constitution of Zambia states that: “a person who has twice held office as President is not eligible for election as President.”

Nonetheless, the PF insists that Lungu would be its presidential candidate in August 2021 because ‘he has only served one term of office.’

Still on the strength of Article 106 (3), numerous stakeholders continue to argue that President Lungu would be abrogating the Constitution if he goes ahead with his third term presidential scheme.

In an interview, Milupi said President Lungu did not ascend to his office, from being a Vice-President as a result of being a running mate to anybody.

“When you focus on securing what is essentially a third third…A third term is a third term, period! We should not mix the Constitution under which he (President Lungu) became President,” Milupi said. “When he became President in 2015, there was no running mate [clause]. He was voted in and sworn-in in 2015 and then he got sworn-in in 2016.”

He told those around President Lungu that by being insistent on securing a third term for their benefactor, “they run the risk of creating a constitutional crisis.”

“When he attempts to file in his presidential nomination papers next year, the Electoral Commission [of Zambia] chairman may accept. But many enlightened citizens, including learned counsels and political parties’ officials, will file [a petition] under the current Constitution,” he noted. “At that stage, the judiciary will not be so beholden to this particular [presidential] candidate to rule in his favour. In the very likely event that they don’t rule in his favour, there will be no re-filing. You understand?”

Milupi added: “if you file in nomination papers and you are knocked out, disqualified, it means the likelihood of the PF not having a presidential candidate is very high.”

“But knowing them (PF), they resort to violence and so on, and that will create a crisis in the country. But legally that is the way it is – [he doesn’t qualify]. Nobody is afraid of President Lungu!” Milupi explained.

He further noted that the other aspect was that when one seeks another term – “whether it’s second or not – you need to look back at what you have achieved.”

“Have you really moved the country forward? You see, when [Levy] Mwanawasa stood in 2001, there were question marks. But by the time he stood in 2006, looking back on what he had achieved from 2001 to 2006, it was so easy for him to win a second term,” he noted. “People rose and said ‘yes.’ People were very fond of him and in 2006, he won by an overwhelming majority. That was on account of people’s assessment of how he had run his first term.”

Milupi is requesting the PF and its leader, Lungu, to “introspect.”

“Let PF introspect. Let the President introspect and see if there has been a positive influence on the long match to development in this country. They have not! Let them be satisfied with what they have done, the wealth they have accumulated,” said Milupi. “Let them now withdraw and go and enjoy whatever wealth which they have, which we know is very significant. Do not condemn this country to another five years of uncertainty, of increasing poverty, debt, political violence. Let other people who have vision come and correct the many evils that have occurred in this country.”

No Sane Person In PF Can Oppose Lungu’s Candidature, Says Paul Moonga

0

By Patson Chilemba
There is no one who is normal in PF who can oppose the candidature of President Edgar Lungu for 2021, says the ruling party’s Lusaka provincial chairperson Paul Moonga.

But sources in the party have told Daily Revelation that contingency measures are being floated in the event President Lungu is blocked from running for another term of office by the courts of law, including considering Finance minister Dr Bwalya Ng’andu to run.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Moonga said PF members were unanimously behind the belief that President Lungu would be allowed to run, because he was merely finishing late president Michael Sata’s term the first time he ran for the presidency. He said only an insane PF member could think otherwise.

“There is nobody who is normal who can say that from PF. Most people in PF are normal and there are no two terms (the President has served),” Moonga said.
However, impeccable sources in the ruling party have said contingency measures were being considered.

“The President is not foolish, he understands that there is a chance this thing might go against him. One of the contingency measures involves floating the idea of Dr Ng’andu running,” the sources said. “There is also a push to try to persuade Chishimba Kambwili to rejoin the party ranks so that it’s easy to have him there in case the President is stopped.”
And Moonga has expressed skepticism over the party’s target to register over 1.8 million voters in Lusaka, saying the registration exercise being conducted by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) was moving too slow.

“We can’t get that number, far from it. Very far away from it. The normal situation is that every polling station must have people to register and must have a kit. Now you go to school there is no polling district, you have to go somewhere else,” Moonga said. “Now this time around they tell you you can register anywhere but where you vote the is no registration center, which is totally pathetic.”

Moonga said the ECZ would be blamed if things did not go well.
“Of course ECZ, they are autonomous. We are saying as government if you have any challenges please come through and liaise with government,” he said.

On the adoption of members of parliament, the process which is in overdrive as people are already positioning themselves to stand in various constituencies, Moonga said each candidate would be adopted by the works they have done.

“Your performance determines your adoption process. It doesn’t matter how senior you are, you are a member of the central committee, you are a member of parliament, if your performance has been pathetic you can’t risk the party,” he said.

Moonga further denied the ruling party’s involvement in the matters Chilufya Tayali had brought up against opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.

“We will wait for the court to determine Tayali has his own evidence I can’t comment much because let’s wait for the courts of law to determine the matter to see who is saying what. HH also has a right to go to court if he feels that he has been defamed,” said Moonga. “It’s Tayali who has the evidence against him and that is his own personal evidence which as PF we have nothing to do. As PF we have nothing to do between Tayali and HH.” –Daily Revelation

Kalaba asks other parties hold intraparty elections

0

DEMOCRATIC Party president Harry Kalaba has cautioned that once those agitating for a third term for President Edgar Lungu gets it, they start calling for: “a fourth, fifth term.”

Kalaba featured on Nkani Yathu on Kwithu radio in Lusaka on Tuesday.

The programme was simultaneously being broadcast on Mafken radio (Mufulira), Liberty radio (Mporokoso) and K FM (Mansa).

Kalaba stressed that he was eligible to contest as President of Zambia next year.

“I’m sure other political parties, at their own time, will hold their intraparty elections [at the presidential level],” Kalaba said.

He explained that Article 60 (2d) of the Constitution of Zambia is instructive to political parties on promoting and practicing democracy, through regular, free and fair intraparty elections.

“One can’t contest the Republican presidency if they have not been ratified within their political party. DP has abided by that constitutional article and the party held a convention where I was elected as the DP’s presidential nominee for 2021 elections,” he said. “So, I’m eligible to stand in the elections next year because I was ratified to represent the DP in the general elections next year.”

Kalaba asked other political parties to also follow what the Constitution says and hold intraparty elections.

He added that he was elected by DP officials from all the provinces of Zambia.

“All what I’m waiting for now is to be elected as the President of Zambia on August 12, 2021. God is great! What others should learn [from my intraparty election] is that when you are not eligible, don’t force matters. Ukuboko bapota ukumine (you are sternly punished only if you’re rigid),” Kalaba noted. “We are seeing others who have exhausted the constitutional limits of contesting the Republican presidency running up and down. They still want to have a last go at it! It’s this trend of clamouring for a last go that makes people to miss a penalty.”

He further asked: “what do they want to do which they have not done in seven years?”

“After this, they will start agitating for a fourth, fifth term, because they think the people of Zambia are like ladders. But we won’t allow it!” Kalaba stressed. “If you have twice held office as President of Zambia, fuma pa cifulo (leave the throne). Give us space!”

He also said the DP wants to work closely with abandoned Zambians.

M’MEMBE GOES FOR CONCOURT …its performance far below acceptable levels of inefficiency, incompetence

0

DR FRED M’membe has asked Constitutional Court judges to listen to people’s concerns and change for the better.

He was commenting on two University of Zambia law lecturers who have expressed concern at the poor judgments coming from the Constitutional Court.

In a write-up titled, ‘Where exactly is the ConCourt taking Zambia: a comment on the Mutembo Nchito judgment’, law lecturers Dr O’Brien Kaaba and Dr Pamela Towela Sambo argued that the ConCourt has done more harm to constitutionalism than promoting its values.

The duo argued that the judgment the court rendered in the Mutembo case left much to be desired.

In his reaction to the duo’s article, Dr M’membe, an advocate of the High Court of Zambia and leader of the Socialist Party, said a court without credibility is not a court.

“The performance of our Constitutional Court falls far below acceptable or tolerable levels of inefficiency, ineffectiveness and incompetence. Many people have raised concerns about the work of our Constitutional Court but no one seems to be willing to listen,” he wrote from Mwika Royal Village in Chinsali. “It’s like they have put cotton wool in their ears. But it is too dangerous for the Constitutional Court to continue on this path and in this way.”

He advised the Constitutional Court judges against fearing criticism, saying “with criticism they can get rid of a bad style and keep the good”.

Dr M’membe said although the criticism offered by the two lecturers sounded harsh, it was nevertheless timely and relevant.

“Our judges shouldn’t fear criticism because the truth is on the side of those who are honest. As we say, dust will accumulate if a room is not cleaned regularly. Our faces will get dirty if they are not washed regularly,” Dr M’membe said. “It’s a pretty harsh criticism, and many judges would not want to hear that about themselves. In fact, many judges have no interest in hearing harsh criticism of themselves and some lawyers and other people, sometimes going to great lengths [to] protect them. I’m quite sure this needed saying.”

He stressed that, “Our minds and our work may also collect dust, and also need sweeping and washing.

Dr M’membe recalled of the proverb “Running water is never stale and a door-hinge is never worm-eaten”, meaning that constant motion prevents the inroads of germs and other organisms.

“To check up regularly on our work and in the process develop an honest style of work, to fear neither criticism nor self-criticism, and to apply such good popular maxims as ‘Say all you know and say it without reserve’, ‘Blame not the speaker but be warned by his words’ and ‘Correct mistakes if you have committed them and guard against them if you have not’ – this is the only effective way to prevent all kinds of dust and germs from contaminating our minds,” he said. “Let’s learn from past mistakes to avoid future ones. And let’s cure the sickness to save the patient. The mistakes of the past must be exposed without sparing anyone’s sensibilities; it is necessary to analyse and criticise what was bad in the past with a scientific attitude so that work in the future will be done more carefully and done better.”

Dr M’membe outlined the common reaction from people who face criticism and advised the judges to listen.

“Often when we’re confronted with criticism, our first instinct is to defend ourselves against the attack, especially when the attack comes from someone whom we think doesn’t know as much as we know ourselves,” he said. “It would have been easy to dismiss what these law lecturers are saying, but it’s better to listen, evaluate their suggestions, and make changes. When you’re confronted with criticism, consider if the person knows about an area where you lack knowledge, and then consider making changes. It may save you future embarrassment. Taking criticism helps.”

Dr M’membe said no section of the community has all the virtues, “neither does any have all the vices”.

“I am quite sure that most people try to do their jobs as best they can, even if the result is not always entirely successful. He who has never failed to reach perfection has a right to be the harshest critic. There can be no doubt, of course, that criticism is good for people and institutions that are part of public life. No institution – presidency, judge, legislator, whatever – should expect to be free from the scrutiny of those who give it their loyalty and support, not to mention those who don’t,” he said. “But we are all part of the same fabric of our national society and that scrutiny, by one part of another, can be just as effective if it is made with a touch of honesty, courage and understanding. This sort of questioning can also act, and it should do so, as an effective engine for change.”

Dr M’membe expressed concern at the perception future generations would have about the Constitutional Court.

“I sometimes wonder how future generations will judge the work of this Constitutional Court of ours. I dare say that history may take a slightly more moderate view than that of some contemporary commentators,” said Dr M’membe.

“Distance is well-known to lend enchantment, even to the less attractive views. After all, it has the inestimable advantage of hindsight. But it can also lend an extra dimension to judgment, giving it a leavening of moderation and compassion – even of wisdom – that is sometimes lacking in the reactions of those whose task it is in life to offer instant opinions on all things great and small.”

Hungry Lion denies customer’s claim of maggots in pieces of chickens she bought

0

HUNGRY Lion Limited says the claim by a Lusaka resident that she was sold chicken with maggots raises suspicion because the piece of chicken which had allegedly gone bad did not have maggots rooted in its flesh.

It claims that the maggots might have been inserted as they were only at a specific portion of the piece of chicken.

This is in a matter where Bertha Bwale has sued Hungry Lion Limited demanding K1 million as compensation for negligence, for failing to provide clean, safe and healthy food, by serving her chicken and chips which had maggots.
Bwale wants the Lusaka High Court to compel Hungry Lion Limited to award her general damages, damages for mental anguish, stress, inconvenience, compensation of K1,000,000 costs and any other reliefs the court might deem fit.

In her statement of claim, Bwale said that on September 5, 2019, whilst in the company of two other friends, she went to the defedant’s hungry Lion outlet at Manda Hill to have a meal and she ordered chicken and chips.

Bwale stated that she was served with the food as ordered and started consuming it, but in the process of the same, she noticed maggots in the food.

“The plaintiff then vomited while crying with grief as she was nauseated continuously,” she claimed.

She said that she brought the issue to the attention of one of Hungry Lion’s staff, who brushed the issue aside.

Bwale claimed that upon being ignored by the said employee, she reported the matter to the Lusaka City Council and later to the Ministry of Health Food and Drugs control laboratory who conducted laboratory tests on the food.

The complainant said that the existence of maggots in the food was confirmed by the results after a foreign matter identification and bacteriological analysis was duly performed.

Bwale alleged that as a result of eating the food, she experienced a running stomach for four days, was nauseated for two weeks and generally fell ill for two months.

She further claimed that as a result of her experience, she has failed to eat her favourite food “chicken and chips” from any other place.

Bwale said that the particulars of negligence by hungry lion were that it failed to provide clean, safe and healthy food, failed to check the state of the food before serving it to her and for failing to provide first aid to her upon discovering maggots in the food and reporting to its (Hungry Lion) staff.

She claimed that she had suffered damage, loss and inconvenience in her normal way of life as a result of the said negligence of Hungry Lion Limited.

But in its defence, Hungry Lion Limited argued that Bwale did not discover maggots in the food as alleged.

It said Bwale carried the food away upon being served and did not consume the same from its premises and she would be put to strict proof during trial.

“The defendant will aver that when the Plaintiff phoned to inform the defendant of the alleged incident, she was asked to come to the premises with a pay-forward taxi and was subsequently attended to,” Hungry Lion explained. “The defendant will further aver that when the Plaintiff later returned with inspectors from City Council, who then conducted an inspection of the defendant’s process of production of the food from beginning to end, the inspectors concluded that it was not possible for maggots to survive such a system.”

Hungry Lion Limited said that chickens and chips were transported and stored in a frozen state and only defrosted when being cooked in bulk at 141 degrees celsius and pending sale they are stored at 65 degrees celsius and the court will be invited to conduct an inspection of the same.

“The defendant will aver further that when it inspected the picture of the chicken allegedly bought from its premises, it was noticed that the alleged maggots were only at a specific portion of the food and did not appear to have been imbeded in the food which makes the whole claim suspicious,” Hungry Lion stated.

It contended that it has never been shown the results confirming that the food was contaminated as alleged by Bwale.

Hungry Lion argued that Bwale was not nauseated, neither did she fall ill because the same could not possibly have resulted from consuming the food which was bought from one of its outlets.

“The alleged particulars of negligence are equally denied. In addition, the defendant will aver that it could not have given first aid to the plaintiff when she did not consume the food from the premises,” said Hungry Lion. “The defendant denies that the plaintiff has suffered damage, loss and inconvenience she claims to have suffered and will urge the Court that the relief sought be dismissed with costs.”

ECZ SHOULD NOT THINK ZAMBIANS ARE FOOLS! – SIKAILE SIKAILE

ECZ SHOULD NOT THINK ZAMBIANS ARE FOOLS!
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), acting public relations manager madam Silvia Bwalya together with compromised hierarchy should sit and reflect on their long term safety and that of the country. The choice to alienate the majority for a few pieces of silver has always ended fast than the anticipated joy. What joy do derive from sending the majority to an early grave?

Your continued denial of Zambians argonizing cry day and night will soon be heard then, it will forever be too late for you.We are very much aware of all the evil schemes the PF government has laid to manipulate 2021 general elections with your help. Again we appeal for serious reflection and introspection. Listen to your inner soul which continually stands for the truth and right.

The Eastern Province conspiracy were foreigners and children are being given NRCs and voters cards with full knowledge of Home Affairs, ECZ and the the patronage PF is closely followed. We want to remind home affairs PS Masiye Banda and friends to stop the criminal act immediately. Its most unfortunate that Bwalya is trying to deny these facts in the public domain of minors and foreigners being given NRCs and voters cards. We know state house and ECZ are working on a pre-voting register that will favour PF, this is criminal, this is why they are desperate to this extent of abusing children to catch up with their targets. The writing on the wall is a timely warning to all. The majority will forever win.
We would like to note the fact that Bwalya has acknowledged that minors are being given these documents, however, she claims it is a staged scheme. Staged scheme? By who? Who would dare stage such a criminal scheme?

The registration process is currently fully controlled by PF surrogates and minions. We saw this even during the mobile issuance of NRCs, and we have written warnings the ECZ, ministry of home affairs and the PF Government to stop it. What can stop ECZ and PF government to register kids if the ECZ can fabricate a ghost constituency like Chitulika on behalf of Edgar Lungu to emerge winner? Sylvia Bwalya and her ECZ colleagues should not think we have forgotten how Esau Chulu and ECZ rigged the elections in 2016. We have all the evidence. We therefore, want to strongly warn Bwalya and her colleagues at ECZ to stop these criminal activities because Zambians are closely watching all the criminals activities that the ECZ and PF have engaged in.

Don’t think we are fools! You have arrogantly decided to delete the old register in order to tilt the projected voting pattern. The scheme is to offset the close call of the 2016 elections. ECZ has continued frustrating the Registration process in opposition perceived strongholds and here some one wants to deny facts. We would like to reaffirm that the current Electoral Commission of Zambia is nothing but a bunch of criminals and thieves working on setting the country on fire just to shield the criminals in the PF government.
Zambia is greater than any one of us and the greater good of Zambia should tame our selfishness. How many dreams are cut off for the many Zambians due to these evil schemes? How many prostitutes are hatched from this evil?

PF’s Popularity Claim in Ndola by Clear point Consulting Ltd is a misconception

0

By Sam Nyirenda NDC Provincial Secretary

PF’s purported claim of Popularity in Ndola by Clear point Consulting Ltd is a misconception.

Just like the unpopular inertia that was unnecessarily created by the Patriotic Front on Bill 10 against the wish of the people is now an artificial belief that the Patriotic Front is still popular on the Copperbelt.
The Opinion poll conducted by a self accredited Opinion poll Company Clear Point Consulting Ltd Company is basically an image building venture with the hope of mending the damaged Political fortunes of the once vibrant PF party under the late President Sata.

The PF seems to draw comfort from this mitigation by the Opinion poll since it’s disconnected from the realities of the suffering Zambians. They seem to have lost touch with the ordinary citizens on the ground.
Whilst the idea of sampling Opinion polls could be good Clear Point has not indicated how, where or which target groups it collected it’s data clusters from that they used in there final data analysis rational.

Ndola is a city which has been Politically exposed and it has always been so.No amount of misinformation,mis-representation or indeed manipulation deliberately calculated to mislead the Electorate will succeed in this current depressing Economic trend. The people of Ndola will not be misguided nor misled with the same rhetoric when it’s the same people who have been subjected to high commodity prices that keep fluctuating day by day rocked by the high inflation.

The Electorate in Ndola or any other place on the Copperbelt will not be made to falsely believe that the Economy of Zambia has improved when in actual fact it has not.The fundamental indicators project that there will even be a negative Growth Domestic Product of 2.4% retardation by the end of 2020.Other than Politicking Edgar Lungu’s administration was suppose to seriously reflect on how they are going to handle the pending recession. The Economics of Ndola has not been spared from the overall Country’s weak Gross domestic Product that has culminated into a poor net Purchasing Power Parity. The ordinary Zambians purchasing Power has been eroded. We are in a Country that only favours a few Elite in this Economic decline caused by outright corruption and mass mismanagement of the Economy.

Apart from being Copperbelt’s administrative town Ndola was until the beginning of the 90s the hub of Zambia’s Light and heavy Industrial line plant production. It also boasted of weaving plants that included a thriving yawning and spinning clothing Industry. This Production covered the Country and beyond in exports. It was the Northern regional inter trade Centre where the impact of the devalued Kwacha has had devastating effects.
What development has the PF brought to this once vibrant Industrial Area ever since they came to Power. The answer is ” Nothing Significant”.

Ndola boasted of over 200 Viable Production Companies in the Ndola Industrial Area.Dynamos and Electrical motors ran day and night. We had shift workers trooping into the Industrial area day and night.
Ndola’s life line has been predominantly of a Manufacturing nature coupled with service provision to the Mines of the Copperbelt.

What has the PF done to Ndola with regard to there Industrialisation Policy ? For those who would want to care this is a place that has now been turned into a dumping ground of imported goods through the provision of Warehousing in the same Industrial area.As if that was not enough it is littered with Chinese finished products from the Central Business District to the Townships areas.

A few days a ago the Copperbelt Minister Honorable Mwakalombe once again proudly officially opened another Large Warehousing in the CBD of Ndola District.

Can the PF tell the Nation how many manufacturing plants they have commissioned so far to provide the much needed employment to out Unemployed Ndola residents the Youth in particular with formal employment.
The Patriotic Front Industrialisation policy through the IDC has had no impact in our development circle Seven years down the line.

They have failed to improve even on the already existing Industrial infrastructure like INDENI.A serious re-investment in this Energy plant would have ultimately lowered the cost of doing business directly and enhanced Job creation as fuel is an engine of Economic growth.

INDENI is one quasi Government Industry that is now obsolete despite it having been faithful to the Zambian Economy for last 46 years.Courtesy to his Excellency Kenneth Kaunda.

This Energy refinery plant also in the City of Ndola has never seen an upgrade from the time it was commissioned in 1974.

The National Democratic Congress has a well defined Industrialisation Policy that encompasses the Energy sector.

From the 2011 Study INDENI Just required 5 million Dollars at the time for an additional high tech processing upgrade Unit.

The plant just does fractional distillation of separation of Commingled Oil in its unit output of Petrol Diesel ,kerosene etc.

Once upgraded this plant would have the capability to spike the actual Crude oil.

Zambia would save more than 250 million dollars that is wasted year in year out through middle Men.
Just by a mere 5 million dollars this plant would be modernised. Compare and contrast this amount of only 5 million dollars with the wasted resources through an irresponsible, careless , insensitive and lack of Vision dubious Procurement tendencies that characterised the PF Government .They have turned our procurement system into conduits of syphoning state resources with impunity. The dubious procuring ranged from overpriced Ambulances, Fire tenders , Digital migration ,Road construction name them that have plunged the Nation into debt distress. Our fiscal space has finally been suffocated with reckless Loan contraction while the production sector has dwindled.

The National Democratic Congress will enhance fiscal discipline in the governance system. It targets to diversify the Economy of the Copperbelt into Agricultural clusters.Ndola has a latitude for expansion. It needs to be repackaged with a new 21st century Industrial block that will attract new investment.

The comparative advantage of the inter-link trade corridor of the Democratic republic of Congo has not been fully utilized. This would enhance more Economic activities for our people on the Copper belt. The PF must prepare for there exist
