BREAKING: Putin Says Ukrainian Energy Attacks Will Not Destabilize Russia
Russian President has declared that Ukraine’s continued attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure will not destabilize the country’s economy or create public panic.
Speaking during a virtual meeting with government officials on Wednesday, Putin accused Kyiv of attempting to weaken Russia by targeting critical energy facilities, including oil refineries, gas compression stations, civilian infrastructure, and transport routes connecting mainland Russia with Crimea.
According to Putin, the primary objective of the attacks is to inflict economic damage while creating fear and uncertainty among the Russian population. However, he insisted those efforts are “impossible to achieve,” arguing that Russia’s economy and energy sector remain resilient despite the strikes.
Putin emphasized that Russia’s energy system possesses one of the world’s highest levels of resilience and instructed government officials to work closely with energy companies to quickly resolve any local fuel shortages caused by the attacks.
Ukraine has significantly expanded its use of long-range drones and missiles to strike targets deep inside Russian territory in recent months, disrupting logistics, damaging energy infrastructure, and affecting fuel supplies in several regions. The cross-border attacks have become a key element of Kyiv’s strategy as the conflict continues.
