Vusimuzi Cat Matlala Appears in Johannesburg High Court for Pre-trial Hearing
Pre-trial proceedings are underway this morning at the Johannesburg High Court for controversial businessman and alleged drug cartel figure Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and his four co-accused, marking an early stage in preparations ahead of their full trial.
The group faces a litany of serious charges, including multiple counts of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, fraud and related offences linked to a series of allegedly orchestrated assassination attempts on high-profile targets.
The case was recently transferred to the High Court after the National Prosecuting Authority consolidated various dockets from different jurisdictions, and Matlala who has been denied bail remains in custody.
