Zimbabweans Mourn the Death of Daniel Chingoma, The Man Who Created His Own Helicopter

Zimbabweans are mourning the death of Daniel Chingoma, affectionately known as ‘the Helicopter Man,’ who passed away yesterday.

Chingoma, a multi-talented creative engineer, entrepreneur, and musician, gained fame for his homemade helicopter, an ambitious creation that earned him admiration and attention throughout the country.

Daniel Chingoma – A Visionary Innovator
Chingoma’s legacy extends far beyond his musical talents and entrepreneurial ventures. His greatest creation was the homemade helicopter, which he named the “Zimcopter.”

Despite his tireless efforts, the government barred the aircraft from taking flight. Chingoma’s determination and imagination were pivotal in the conception of this invention, solidifying his status as an innovator and visionary.

In addition to his work as an engineer, Chingoma was also the founding director of Taisek Engineering (PVT) Ltd. His company was responsible for producing water pumps for domestic, agricultural, and industrial purposes, further proving his versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.

A Brief Stint in Politics
Chingoma’s pursuits didn’t stop at engineering and business. In 2010, he ventured into politics by forming the Zimbabwe Industrial and Technological Revolutionary Party (ZITER). A few years later, in 2015, he announced his candidacy for the 2018 Presidential elections, though his political aspirations never fully materialized. Despite this, his ambition and drive continued to inspire those around him.
