19 YEAR OLD BOY OF CHINGOLA ARRESTED FOR RAPING AN 84 YEAR OLD WOMAN
A 19 year old boy of Chingola’s Muchinshi area has been arrested for defiling an 84 year old mentally disturbed Woman.
The incident happened between Monday and Tuesday around 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs in Tumfwane area along Chingola, Solwezi Road.
Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba who confirmed the incident to RISE FM NEWS stated that the victim who has a mental condition was defiled by a 19 year old boy whom she can identify if seen.
Mr Mweemba says the victim was sleeping in her one roomed house where she is kept by her grandson and Whilst sleeping, an unknown male person broke into the house and forced himself on the old woman who was asleep and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
He says the victim could not shout for help because of her mental status and old age.
The Commissioner says the following morning when the victim woke up, she informed her grandson’s wife of what had happened to her and that the suspect who had defiled her was still in the house sleeping.
He says she alerted the neighbours who later came and apprehended the suspect identified as Kennedy Lukonde aged 19 of Chamata area in Muchinshi.
He adds that the suspect has since been detained at Muchinshi police post while the victim has been issued with a medical report form.
