EDGAR LUNGU AND PF RAPED THE CONSTITUTION AT THEIR TIME AND ARE WRONG PEOPLE TO TALK ABOUT VIOLATING THE CONSTITUTION TODAY

Hearing Edgar Lungu talk about the rule of law today is shocking .
This is the man who caused constitutional crises in the country and could not listen to anybody .
Citizens may recall that this is the man :
1. who told Ministers to remain in office and allowed them to use government vehicles to campaign after dissolution of parliament against all advice , including advice from the Attorney General;
2. Who nodded the expulsion of 23 PF members of parliament under the PF tenure and now it has continued and expelled 9;
3. Who personally failed to hand over power to the Speaker of the National Assembly during the 14 days Presidential election petition . So ECL personally should immediately stop talking about his regime having full respect of the Constitution;
4. ECL caused so many by-elections in UPND strongholds at his time with all his ministers seeing it as a the right thing ;
5. Who , Using speaker Matibini , ensured Chishimba KAMBWILI was out of parliament . KAMBWILI had to go to court to prove ECL and KAMBWILI wrong .
It is total hypocrisy for ECL to think he is clean simply because Zambians forget easily . It is also important for Zambians to reflect on ECL behavior and not accept to be taken advantage of due to short-memory .
It is painful to see how some citizens forget so easily and start praising wrong characters who have brought chaos in the country.

If it was illegal in 2021 for ECL to have his name on the ballot , which I guess was , will that have a bearing on 2026 elections ? What action will be taken to Judges that decided the same at the time .
No judge in fact ever said Lungu was eligible, the case of eligibility wasn’t taken to court. What was taken to court was, what constitutes a term which is used to determine terminal benefits of a President who leaves office mid term. And the PF themselves who gathered at the court premises rose in unison saying he’s eligible because he didn’t do a term. Yet according to the constitution you rule even for 30 minutes and be called a former president as long as you are sworn in twice. Everyone is aware, only that someone understand now that some actions tend to be treasonous once found to have breached the constitution which you swear to defend. Nipano tuli wina azalila. You don’t rape the constitution because you are in power. Big lesson for all of us

You left out the big one . . Amendment of the constitution to allow him run for a third term. Only that the trails were not fully closed up.
Then allow the petitions so that they are “closed and dismissed”.

It’s mathematics! A term = 5 years. The constitution is against anyone running for more than 10 years. A term is therefore a perio of more than 3 years. A cummulative periof of 8 years is not mathematically 10 years. Come on,Lungu run for 3+5 years!! Not 2 terms!!!
