By Shem Malinda

Zambia’s FIFA referee, Diana Chikotesha, has been appointed on the officiating panel for the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League final between Mamelodi Sundowns and ASFAR.

Chikotesha will be the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Assistant in the second edition of Africa’s biggest Women’s Club football showpiece taking place in Morocco on Sunday.

The final between the reigning Champions Mamelodi and competition hosts, The Militaries, will be led by Vincentia Amendment of Tofo with on field assistants of Cameroonian Carine Fomo and Asma Ouahab of Algeria.

Aside from the VAR role in the final of the competition, Chikotesha will be the first assistant in the third place playoff match between Bayelsa Queens FC of Nigeria and Simba Queens FC of Tanzania Saturday.

This playoff will be headed by Namibian Antsino Twanyanyukwa while Democratic Republic of Congo’s, Mireille Mujanayi, will be the second assistant referee and Shahenda Elmaghrabi of Egypt will be the fourth official.
