ECZ’S MOTIVES BEHIND CREATING A NEW DOCTORED VOTER REGISTER
These were the voter registration numbers by percentage in 2016 ;

CENTRAL 9.6%
COPPERBELT 15.4%
EASTERN 11.6%
LUAPULA 7.6%
LUSAKA 16.7%
MUCHINGA 5.2%
NORTHERN 8.3%
NORTH WESTERN 6%
SOUTHERN 12.1%
WESTERN 7.4%

These percentages have held to be very consistent in all 6 election cycles since 1991.
What the PF and ECZ are attempting to do with the creation of a new register is to change these numbers in favor of the PF.

The ultimate objective is to increase voter percentages in Luapula, Northern, Muchinga and Eastern Provinces, and to reduce voter percentages in Southern, Western, North Western, Copperbelt, Central and Lusaka provinces.

What you’ll see at the end of this process is Luapula jump from number 7 to number 3, Muchinga from 10 to 8.
Lusaka will drop from 17% to just 12%.
They have the numbers all worked out.

But the economy has overrun them, they have been overtaken by events.
They solely relied on a tribal voting pattern to get them through with this formula, but they are now losing support in those areas they expected to win, because of the economic downturn. – NDC
