Popular UK based Zambian social media Influencer Lillian Mutambo has expressed disappointment with an artist for boasting about earning slightly over $3000 on YouTube, quarterly.
Yo Maps has posted a slip detailing a pay he recieves from YouTube which it appears has been caused by a standoff between himself and the presenters of a popular Zambian Podcast ” That Zed Podcast” who invited him to feature on their show ,but he told them he would do so if they put him in funds of K30,000 ,which has sparked debate on social media.
In a recent Facebook posting , Mutambo who is a popular Zambian YouTuber herself says boasting about a merger $3,300 YouTube pay out is ridiculous because there are artists that get well over $100,000 and as much as a Million dollars on iTunes alone.
She has urged artists in Zambia to remain humble and not allow fame go to their heads .
She wrote:
3300 dollars on Youtube is cheap for any artist to brag about…Davido, Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Burna Boy, Peru boy and more make over $100,000..It is shameful to brag about money which even bloggers make tripple than that…As a vlogger on Youtube, if I upload content.
$3300 for an artist means you are not an international star! Stars are making even $1,000,000 on just iTunes alone….
Sometimes being silent is better than showing arrogance, Diamond alone makes even $5,000,000 on streams, humility pays bane Koffi and Fally bali zee them too make millions of dollars…
