Only PF has so far sent a representative to witness ballots printing in Dubai

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has announced commencement of printing of ballot papers for next month’s general elections.

Meanwhile, only the PF have sent a representative in Dubai to witness the ballot printing process.

This is according to a statement by the commission’s public corporate affairs manager Patricia Luhanga.

COMMENCEMENT OF PRINTING OF THE 2021 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT PAPERS

The Commission would like to advise the media and members of the public
that printing of ballot papers for the 2021 General Election has commenced
today, 5th July 2021 in Dubai, UAE, starting with Local Government and
Mayoral/Council Chairperson’s ballot papers.

The ballot proofs are being approved by various political party representatives stationed in Lusaka at the Electoral Commission of Zambia.

The proofing of ballot papers began on Friday 2nd July 2021 and progressing
well and according to schedule.

The Patriotic Front (PF), People’s Alliance for Change (PAC), United Party for National Development (UPND) and an Independent Member of Parliament
Candidate for Lumenzi Constituency applied for accreditation to observe the
printing of the ballot papers.

The Commission has since accredited all of
them.

Currently, only the PF have managed to send a representative.

Representatives from UPND, PAC and the Independent MP are also expected to join the team.

The printing of ballot papers is expected to end on 30th July 2021.
