Socialist Party President Fred M’membe detained at Ibex Hill
POLICE ARREST DR FRED M’MEMBE FOR SEDITIOUS PRACTICES
August 8, 2024 – The Zambia Police Service has arrested and formally charged Dr. Fred M’membe, aged 65, for the offence of seditious practices, contrary to Section 60(I)(C) as read with Section 60(I)(B) of the Penal Code Act, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that on July 16, 2024, between 13:00 hours and 14:00 hours, Dr. M’membe published an article on his Twitter and Facebook pages titled “Tshisekedi tells DRC Catholic Bishops about the USD 20 Million Payout to buy Zambia’s silence.”
The content of this article is alleged to have been intended to bring into hatred or contempt or to incite disaffection against the government as established by law.
Dr. M’membe has been detained in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon to answer to the charges laid against him.
The Zambia Police Service wishes to remind the public that the law will be applied firmly and fairly to all individuals, and any actions aimed at inciting hatred or disaffection against the government as by law established will be met with the appropriate legal measures.

Do you know what you are doing is making Meembe more popular as many people are associating with him just look at what happened to HH, in 2021, PF tried to stop him entering Chipeta, CB and other areas.
My blogging is still there where I warned PF that HH is a leading opposition leader and more importantly a Zambian who has the birth right to move anywhere he wishes to travel just like Lungu and minions are doing. Do what you want others to do to you. I was called names but today we have seen similarities to what what PF was doing .
Honestly, my thoughts were since HH has gone through this kind of stuff, he will do better so that he can be remembered for leaving Zambia a better place for his legacy for many generations to come. How this is to far fetched. HH sometimes may not be aware his handlers will destroy his legacy. Some of you are will recall when Sata won the elections even Winter Kambimba, GBM tried go after those who insulted and tortured him but he asked them, where you the ones insulted or attacked? He forgive many people who were his enemies when in opposition. When as a president you become the father of the nation.
The tongue though a small member of the human body boasts of great things and can easliy be set on a path of destruction or good depending on what is in the heart in abundance.
