Some trained teachers looking for employment in Government schools are failing to follow recruitment which may lead to their disqualification.

The Teaching Council of Zambia says some of the online applicants have not certified and verified their qualification documentation which is leading to the delay of the registration process.

This is according to Dr. Ebby Mubanga, the Registrar of the Teaching Council of Zambia.

Government is due to advertise 30,000 teacher jobs and President Hakainde Hichilema says this will happen soon.

Dr Mubanga has urged all teachers applying for Teacher Registration in readiness for the forthcoming Teacher Recruitment to ensure that their academic and professional qualifications are verified by the examining body or issuing institution before uploading them online.

He says non-Zambian applicants should ensure that documentation is verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA) before submitting them for teacher registration application.

Dr Mubanga has reminded all teachers that the deadline for the Practicing License renewal is 31st March, 2022.

The Teaching Council of Zambia has developed E Certification for both Teacher Registration and Practice Licence which enables teachers to access their certificates electronically.

Any teacher found teaching without a valid Practicing Licence breaches the Teaching Profession Act No. 5 of 2013 section 16 (3) which is punishable by law.
