Antonio, don’t blame me for giving up power, it was the right thing to do, former President Edgar Lungu has said.
And president Lungu has said one doesn’t need to be very intelligent to know that he is the next DEC’s target after his wife.
He was answering a journalist who wanted the former president to comment on the happenings in his family and law enforcement agencies.
The former president however said he was ready to face the agencies.
“I know a lot of you have said you should have resisted. But I can assure you that it was the right thing to do. You don’t have to be very intelligent to know that after her it’s me. This is the sequence, it’s like you a peeling the onion. So I’m ready. And they talk about immunity yes they can take aware the immunity but I am able to answer to whatever charges,” he said.
He charged that the reason the law enforcement agencies are after him is because they want to kill his political life.
President Lungu added that he is still politically active adding that that is what the current administration is worried about.
“So I am ready, even they say I am hiding behind the immunity, I am not hiding behind anything. I know what is going on. The aim is just to make sure that they kill PF, they kill my political life. I am still politically active although not in leadership, but I can still give an opinion, I still have influence. They are worried about that. I have said I am no longer there but I am a living being. In short you can consult mem,” he said.
