UPND confident of winning 2026 polls
THE ruling UPND has expressed confidence of winning the 2026 general elections as it has continued to win support from Zambians.
The party’s deputy Secretary General, Ms Gertrude Imenda, said the UPND will not have difficulties to defeat the opposition because of the massive support it has continued to receive on the ground.
Ms Imenda said as it stands, the opposition has no capacity to unseat the UPND in 2026.

The moment you free the political space, and allow other parties to mobilize, that’s when you will know that you are history… Hakainde’s failures in nearly all sectors are there for all to see..and the governance style in which he has taken Zambia to the one party dictatorship of the UNIP days are there for all to see…with the 3 arms of Government in decay..talk of the economy, the cost of living.
Further , Hakainde’s divisive Tribal Politics haven’t gone unnoticed…. People saw this when he was in Opposition, and have seen it in his government …His tribal messaging has raised tribal fault lines again….And people are being made more conscious of tribe … This wasn’t the case in the past .
Previously that episode involving the ZNBC presenter could have passed unnoticed, but not now..there is an obsession with tribe from our current government.
Indeed who was beating Tongas for speaking their language…or the Kaondes as Hakainde has been alleging in his rallies? He is making his tribesmen very uncomfortable through the false narrative he wants to push on people, to raise a voting passion. Remove Tribal messaging, and the man who rides on tribal Zealotry has no message for the country..
And the boos we have started seeing are just a tip of the iceberg….The man is gone!
Of course dreaming is free. Upnd cannot win elections even if they were held today. What reason do Zambians have for voting for Hichilema and his dead Upnd? There’s nothing that should make Zambians vote for Hichilema, he has completely failed because of tribal politics and has closed the door for his tribesman to ever rule this country again! That’s what fortunately Hichilema and his close allies pretend not see. So come what may Hichilema and his Upnd have to go in 2026. If Hichilema and Upnd are thinking of rigging , it will not work, instead they will just bring chaos in this country. So better they think of peace first instead of bringing chaos in the country. Zambians are poised on protecting the vote in 2026 and nobody will be allowed to temper with it! And the constitution must be amended after Upnd is out of power in 2026 so that police is not abused by any future president to consolidate their hold on power, because right the police is being abuse too much just to protect Hichilema’s hold on power! There’s nowhere in the world that democracy is practiced in this way! Only dictators use a third force to hold on to power! But it will not work for Hichilema, let people close to him tell him the truth. And his booing at Heroes stadium yesterday tells it all. And it was surprising to see him waving back at boos! And it’s not normal for a president to be turning around in the stadium to wave, a president must conserve that respect, not turning this way, turning that way, oops even people walking next to him where just surprised! Those turnings can make a president tumble and fall down. That’s why they advise a president to be composed all the time. The man is gone! He’s finished! Zambians have no regard for him any more because they are hungry! Even the teachers and nurses he boasts of employing are also very hungry and very angry! We can’t wait for 2026, it’s too far! The suffering is too much! Zambians have never suffered like this in the history of this country! And what Hichilema should know is that the more he stops opposition from holding rallies the more unpopular he becomes! The more Zambians hate him, result is booing at every public appearing he makes! Like it was in Solwezi town centre, his so called strong hold! He’s gone, nothing will save him!
