The Drug Enforcement Commission in collaboration with other Law Enforcement Agencies has formally arrested and charged five Egyptian nationals involved in the Gold Scam for Espionage.
Others arrested and charged for the same offense include six Zambians including a senior police officer .
Espionage is the practice of spying or of using spies, typically by governments to obtain political and military information.
Confirming the development DEC Public Relations Officer, Hussein Khan says this is contrary to section 3 (a) of The State Security Act Cap 111 of the Laws of Zambia.
Mr Khan said the suspects are expected to appear in court .

The Drug Enforcement Commission in collaboration with other Law Enforcement Agencies has formally arrested and charged five Egyptian nationals and six Zambians including a senior police officer for Espionage contrary to section 3 (a) of The State Security Act Cap 111 of the Laws of Zambia.
The suspects are expected to appear in court today.
