Chipata Catholic Diocese Judicial vicar Fr Evans Miti has urged electorates to avoid voting for wolves who will disappear after they have been voted for.

In a sermon delivered yesterday, and availed to Daily Revelation, Fr Miti said, “We are seeing people who want to aspire for different positions pretending that they loves us but they are wolves, they are wolves. They will come to pray … at the moment they are drilling boreholes doing this and that, I can assure you after the elections they will stop doing that. I can assure you. No wonder I am telling you, please this year should be a different year. I am not supporting any political party no wonder I am telling everyone of you.”

Fr Miti urged people to vote out politicians who had not performed, saying President Lungu was being lied to.

“If there is no development and you know so and so has not done well whilst he was in his office, don’t vote for them. Don’t! Look at Chipata it has been declared a city how much has it been developed? The roads are quite bad, and even if somebody was saying don’t talk about hospitals, yes we know even in the hospitals medicines are not there,” Fr Miti said. “We know that okay. When the Presidnet comes we begin telling him lies, no Your Excellency things are okay. Edgar might be a good person, and I see him like that, His Excellency Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu might be a good person and I see him like that but there are some people telling him lies, ‘no Your Excellency the roads are done, the Lundazi road is okay, Vubwi-Chadiza road is okay’, and you are the ones who make him bad, the man is good.

“You know them these people I am talking about, don’t vote for them. Don’t vote for them.”

He said telling people to vote wisely was long gone, as electorates should now be told to vote out people who had failed to perform, while keeping those who had performed in office.

“I will not beat about the bush because we are tired telling you vote wisely, vote wisely. Vote for people who will bring development. There are good people in PF, there are good people in FDD, no is it, I don’t know if it’s there or ND whatsoever,” F Miti said. “Help that person who is doing well to continue or if they are not doing well they go away. We know for sure that Edgar is eligible let’s not preoccupy ourselves to say no he’s not eligible he’s not what, the Concourt has already ruled and we respect the laws of the land.”

Fr Miti urged people not to be swayed by the little gifts they received from politicians, saying they should not reduce their own dignity.

“Be peaceful don’t follow things anyhow because of the law 10kg or cooking oil don’t reduce yourselves you are highly dignified in the eyes of God. You know, not because they are giving food, no, no, no show yourselves that you are united, anchored in love and above all else peace should be paramount,” said Fr Miti. – Daily Revelation
