The 21-year-old’s miraculous resurrection has left her family, community, and authorities stunned, sparking a quest for answers.

Falopa Mbewe, who was 16 years in 2019, is said to have died in her home village of Chiwete under Chief Chununda of Chipangali District in Eastern Province after consuming maize preserving tablets.

According to reports, Falopa was buried a day after her death in the village burial site.

Those who attended the burial testify that during the procession, a strong whirlwind temporarily disrupted proceedings and sent everyone scampering in all directions.

It was only after an hour that a handful of mourners returned and completed the burial ceremony.

However, upon her return home, Falopa’s parents Mona Mbewe and his wife Dorica began to experience paranormal activity at home like footsteps at night and food disappearing all of a sudden – It is as if someone was trying to send them a message.

Desperate for answers, the parents engaged a Pastor Reuben Kalima of Easterise in Prayers Church to intervene.

Following weeks of fervent prayers, pastor Kalima shared a surprising revelation with the Mbewes that their daughter, Falopa, was alive.

Miraculously, just a few weeks later, in August, she was found wandering in a village near the Malawi border

Upon hearing the news, Falopa’s father hastily traveled to the village, where he positively identified his daughter. Despite her significantly altered appearance and limited speech, he reunited with her and brought her back home.

The entire village has identified Falopa as the late daughter of the Mbewes but wonder how she could still be alive when they witnessed her burial five years ago.

To unravel the mystery, the Zambia Police Service exhumed Falopa’s remains yesterday, extracted DNA samples, and sent them to the Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital for analysis.

Police sources say the results will only be ready next week but in the meantime, the late Falopa is staying with her parents.
