Socialist Party President Calls for Unity, Moral Leadership, and a New Revolutionary Vision for Zambia
Lusaka, Thursday, 6 November 2025
The Socialist Party President, Dr Fred M’membe, has called on all party members and Zambians across the country to remain focused, united, and committed to building a morally grounded political movement capable of transforming the nation.
In his statement, Dr M’membe emphasized that the true strength of the Socialist Party does not come from money or manipulation, but from unwavering moral conviction. He noted that Zambia is currently facing unusual and challenging times, which demand new approaches and a decisive shift away from the political practices of the past six decades.
Dr M’membe stated that today’s politics must be anchored in giving the people a better and happier life—both materially and spiritually. He added that this vision requires constructing leadership and governance systems that are honest, people-centered, and capable of delivering meaningful change.
He stressed that the enormous task ahead cannot be achieved by individuals alone. Instead, he called for collective effort involving all Zambians and their authentic leaders—traditional, religious, labour-based, and professional.
Citing the proverb “imfumu shitungululafye, abateka bantu,” he reaffirmed that while leaders may guide, it is ultimately the people who govern.
Dr M’membe explained that socialism is fundamentally about increasing citizens’ participation in decision-making at every level of society. He said socialism is the process of people deciding together, building together, and transforming their communities—and, in the process, transforming themselves. He described this collective progress as an expression of “fraternal love.”
He further called for forging strategic and permanent alliances with genuine leaders of the people, including traditional authorities, religious leaders, trade unionists, and professionals, to advance the struggle for a just and equitable Zambia.
Dr M’membe concluded by urging members to stay committed and focused on the party’s objectives, reaffirming the Socialist Party’s dedication to uplifting the lives of ordinary Zambians.
“Aluta continua,” he declared.

You are in greater need of a revolution in your life than Zambia does.
Dr Mmembe, it is rather surprising that you, of all people can be talking about morality and honesty.
You past dealings have never been close to any of these attributes.
Your history with ZRA at the post falls short of proof of moral uprightness and honesty-you evaded tax which was supposed to contribute to the well being of Zambians, whether in Education, social, Health, energy, agriculture, economic or infrastructure development. That is even before one looks at your loan default history or suspicious dealings at the defunct Zambian Airways where you and your fellow partners left the workers in the cold and only rewarded a selected few after liquidation.
You have not paid them their outstanding Salaries and related benefits despite the fact that your liquidator is still collecting rentals from the Hangars at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
That alone is a clear sign that you can not be trusted with the highest office in the land whereby you will be the one to call the shots. The treasury would be in big trouble.
So, you can do well by giving back to society by engaging in voluntary social work in one of the many struggling rural areas.
You want to be seen to have a heart for Zambians? Show the nation which corporate social responsibilities you engaged in during the peak of the post.
You could not have just woken up suddenly and realised that you could help Zambians when you are at the lowest ebb of your financial capacity.
Give Zambians a break!
You and your fellow chalk manufacturer are trying to squeeze through the economic progress access door the easy way.
In short, forget being given a chance to defraud Zambians through pretence of empathy. You are hard hearted Sir, you don’t have the passion for helping people.
You are too bitter for the loss of your post empire and your fight should be with Lewis Mosho who pursued your fortunes and not HH who you are fighting on a daily basis together with your nephew Sishuqa Sishuwa.
Go help the poor if you feel for the Sir. Presidency? Nope! Zambians learned from ECL, they thought his history of defrauding a widow was a once off professional error. The rest is there for evry Zambian to tell.
Is that a new political party? How is it different from the socialist party?
An egomanic doing what he does everyday. Tries to stroke his ego with eloquent speeches and rants. With little or no self reflection.
The irony is the lies these two(Mmembe and Sishuwa) tell each other instead being reflective about themselves….
